    Default Kingsblood

Ser Lyonel Arryn looked partly absent upon the burning Sept within the distance, knowing that it was the King's work. Like the Tower of the Hand, the killing of Garth Tyrell, all the bloodshed.
And partly, it was his fault.
During these hours, Arryn wondered what held him here. He swore his oath in favor to the mad King, though it was obvious punishment. A chain, to keep him in charge.
Though chains can sometimes be weapons.
He went away from the position while returning to his duty. The sword being readied.

So Lyonel... I gave you one single task
The voices returned. The echo of a past - a mad past.
You had one single job and all I see is you being incompetent enough to not do it!
And yet, what differed the King from his own brother? What kept him from continiueing where he started the conflict?
Who was it, who kept the King in chains?
See it as a justified punishment for your failure, brother
Ser Lyonel sighed, as he opened the large door, entering the main hall to grant the King his audience. He had partly waited for this moment since the Trial of Tarth, partly not expected it to happen. Yet, all battle-proven men have to choose their loyalities. An oath for the lives of thousands.
They fail to see the chance of shapeing the realm. They're scum, all of them - and apparently you want to stay with the filth as well, don't you, little brother?"
The king or the realm - the White Falcon knew that he had broken his oath anyways with the King allowing to go his far. The Targaryen family was shattered, his most trusted advisors banished.
Thus it was on his side to end it. He saved once the life of the King during the battle, doing his oath - now he saw that it had been a mistake.
So you better don't pray for your enemies' mercy and try to fall honorably in battle - that's assumingly the best thing, you could do right now to remember you in a good way.
And thus he went as usual towards the King's side, telling him that there were no news from the rest of the Kingsguard - while sheating his sword once he was in range.
    For the realm!

OOC: Attempt to murder the King during the Sept-RP. Entire Kingsguard apart from Ser Barristan is absent, so is Ser Bronn.
    +3 Duels +3 Survival
    Full armour set
    +3 Sword

If the attempt fails, my character will fight Barristan, if he resists and defends the King, afterwards Aerys. Ser Lyonel knows that it will be his last deed, as I RPed him as that kind of Mandon Moore-character, who wants to die anyways.
And I assume Lyonel knows where the King is, if two Kingsguard knights are left.

Arryn draws his sword, and runs the King through before the other man in the room had a chance to react.

Barrastian Semly turns around a shocked look on his Face drawing his sword to face his opponent.

The duel ended quickly it Semly landing a strong first blow cleaving through a portion of the other mans heavy armor, yet it was the very armor that saved his life. Arryn reacts coming back strong and hard, hitting Semly again and again until the other man is defeated.

Aerys just grunts in horror as the blade pierces his chest. His eyes wide, blood runs down his chin and his last act is to spit it onto the white armour of Ser Lyonel.

The White Falcon eyed the man grim, while making sure the blade hit the heart, just seconds before he tossed him out of his throne. Lyonel didn't knew what the King thought within his last moments nor wanted he to know. He solely knew that damnation would await him soon as well.
In the end Aurane got what he wanted - yet it was not the way he probably imagined it.
No, probably he was still and the realm would despite him for what he did.
Yet he knew that he had probably ended a reign of terror to safe all those, whom this monster would have killed.
But it was probably not over yet.

Covered in blood he eyed Selmy, being prepared for fighting the man. The Kingslayer did it for House Targaryen, for the realm and technically could just surrender, offering Selmy to let him die. Yet, he felt that he probably had to fight.
These thoughts happened within a second as he saw Selmy making his move.

Selmy was just looking outside, through the windows and onto the fire unleashing on the sept. He thightened the grip on the sword's hilt. The smoke curled towards the sky, blackening the horizon. Distracted he leaned against a wall, pensive. He was tired after two days on unending watch over the king. He hears armored steps, the sharp steel of a kingsguard's armor. For the sound he guessed it was Arryn. A good knight he thought. As he turned to greet the Kingsguard a terrible act happened, Arryn sword in hand had stabbed the King, and as Aerys' falls Selmy gasped, some tears of drop stainning the white chestplate of Barristan.

    "My King!"

He yells as the Targaryen falls to the ground, lifeless. And for the first time on his life Selmy loses his focus, his gaze covered by a red veil of anger and grief. Raging he throws himself against the traitor, slashing through his armor and wounding him, indefferent of losing his famous self-control.

    "Kingslayer! Oathbreaker!"

    He yelled.

Ser Lyonel blocked the attack, seeing it coming, as Selmy hacked in his rage against the Arryn Knight. He contered the first blow, yet recieving a fatal strike and then another.
"For the realm! I saved it!", was all he brought out, while he felt the air leaving his body, his chest plate recieving blows.
It seemed impossible for him to compete with Selmy, as the man knew nontheless how to handle the sword. The Falcon was tempted to give up,
give in to the red world beyong his eyes, smelling like blood and sweat, but he felt how his instincts took over.
Another wound, the coat became more reddish.

And just when he saw already himself dying, it was like his vision changed. As if it was not Selmy whom he fought, but Aurane staring right in front of him.
With a nasty look he eyed him, while Lyonel struggled in his anger, roaring angry, as he himself struck his opponent serious fatal blows, one after another.
What happened in moments seemed endless and it was like Aurane was taunting the Arryn brother,
while instead of Aerys rotten corpse, there suddenly was for a glimpse the body of a smiling Rodrik Egen.
Yet, despite these irritating visions, Lyonel knew they weren't real.
    They couldn't

"I did it for the realm!"
, he yelled, dealing another fatal hit against the shoulder plate of Ser Barristan, the armour of the opponent giving in, while blood shot out of the weakspot. Being unchained, the regular valiant knight of House Arryn hacked his way through the defense of the Stormlander, his eyes burning in desperation and anger.
He didn't want to fight, he neither wanted to kill his brother,
yet it seemed as he had to, as he couldn't leave.

It was his own fear, which increased Arryn's abilities.
    Fear of damnation,
    fear of being mocked,
    fear of judgement.

His trial was prepared, the Stranger watched the battle - but Ser Lyonel refused.
The Valesman was tied between his life and accepting his fate.

The next blows were swift and in the end, Arryn triumphed over his opponent.
He saw how Selmy fell to the ground, bleeding out of several wounds, the armour being torn apart, as the Kingslayer recovered from his bloodrage. He wasn't sure whether he killed the young man or not, but decided in this moment of clear sanity that there was no motivation for him to kill Selmy. He served the kingdom loyal and he held to his oath - it was not on Lyonel's side to be his judge.
Thus he made is way back to the corpse of Aerys.

OOC: I left Selmy alive. Unless the mods contest it, I'll stay with this decision.
