To get a private audience with the King
The Red Keep... from outside nearby the walls it even looked more impressive than from the distance, as Thorgen had to admit.
Sure, he was here. At least few times - but it was mainly Larraq with whom he entered it. The Red Priest, may he be condemned or favored by some, had at least enough influence to allow himself entrance into this keep, but even his capability would probably just end within the main hall. To which he would mayhaps also get lead forward, if he had to deal with Aerys II. - but a private audience?
As a sole hedgeknight, named a Knight by a servant of R'hllor?
No chance!
Ser Pyre inspected the walls curiously, while he moved forward on foot, his steed being at the tavern, at which he stayed, while Larraq was probably busy with daily preaching.
It was probably better when he didn't knew - the man helped him and what Thorgen planned was dangerous to a certain degree. Dangerous enough to upset more than just one influential person within the court or outside of it!
So he probably would do the Priest a better favor than he could as a regular bodyguard, a job which Thorgen had began to hate. No wandering around, no actual growth within Larraq's community... sure, it gave him a better life than before, but that was not what the Wildfire knight was made for.
His identity was born by fire, so it was only reasonable to continiue it with fire.
Fire and Blood...
And if Larraq was lucky, he probably did him a favor. While perhaps doing the same for the King as well, if he succeeds in what he planned and if he was interpreting the rumors right.
The trial, the Lady Commander, the High Septon, the bastard... Pyre had a bet that there was some potential within current events. And he fortunately knew the right men to execute these methods.
Yet, he needed support - not a direct one, but one which would guarentee him not becoming endangered after the coup.
No innocents needed to be harmed and no men of the King to be involved - and given the size of the target, he had in mind it was much demanded.
Probably just mentioning it, would cost his head!
Otherwise there wasn't much, Pyre had to lose. If the King wouldn't back the plan, he would probably end the same way as his existence came to being.
Born by fire, taken by fire...
And it was probably just a matter of time till Larraq would lose interest in the capital and abbandon him, his new position and everything, if no progress was achieved. It was worth the risk.
With these thoughts, Ser Thorgen came towards the entrance of the Red Keep, unsure how to begin. Would he sneak in, try to find one of the rumored secret passages below the keep on his own? Climb over the walls? Bribe a Goldcloak to bring him over the letter, in which he would request the audience?
He eyed the pocket briefly in which the pergament was, assuming that this one was probably the best option. The alchemists denied him, fools as they were - so it had to be the direct way. The shameful one, which made him look like some regular green boy, who just achieved his knighthood. Well, they can't know... solely the burning trees of the Kingswood and spreading wildfire were testemonies of his backstory, of how he came to his name, the horse and the armour.
Thus he breathed in deeply before making his way towards one of the guards at the entrance to make his attempt.
He had nothing to lose, as he was solely a spark in the darkness.
Yet a spark, which given the possibility to grow,
could turn into a field of fire.
OOC: Attempt to convince the present guardsman handing over a personal letter adressed towards the King, requesting a private meeting
or to bribe the man to do so, if he seems like the kind of guy, who would be in for extra payment.
Leaving it to Skylord, Zeus or anyone in controll of the goldcloaks to act on the guard's behalf unless it would reach territory where a mod thinks that it would be more reasonable for him to act.
