OOC: Talked to Ponti about this. Gonna have my Mudd character drop in since we agreed to let him one day become Rhaegar's retainer.

As the pair crossed into Andalos, there would appear a lone man before a bridge, hand upon the hilt of his sword. He looked like a grizzly fellow with a thick beard and long hair; having made the mountains his home and a place to prey upon travelers. Yet his features were not Essosi, but rather, Westerosi, which may have seemed odd given where they were. He crosses his arms slightly as Penrose and the unknown Rhaegar approach the bridge, making it clear he would not let them pass. He spits on the ground before speaking to them, raising his hand to stop them.

Oi! There's a toll to be paid here.

Penrose leaned on the saddle's pommel. He wore a hardened leather doublet, sewn with iron scales and from his belt hung both a longsword and a fearsome hammer.

"And who are you?"

He was chewing a straw. Sun was high and heat was raising slowly. Warmer temperatures as they rode southwards.

"I only see a bandit pretending to be a Lord guarding his bridge. Where's your keep, old man?"

Cortnay spits the straw.

Harrold snorts at the comment by Penrose.

A Lord guarding his bridge? My good traveler, the mountains are my keep! I have lived here for over a decade and they call me the King Under the Mountain!

The bandit laughs with his mocking tone, amused at the remark by this Stormlander.

Now again, I say, there is a toll to be paid to cross this bridge.

Rhaegar drew his sword. "A toll paid in your blood, brigand." He set his jaw, determined this man should not block their path. "Penrose and I will wet the ground with your blood before we pay a single stag." Rhaegar's purple eyes could not be mistaken, and his dyed blue hair was looking a bit more silver at the roots. It was obvious something was being concealed.

Penrose?, thought Harrold, House Penrose of the Stormlands? Are these two Westerosi?

Bold statement from you, purple-eyed boy. And what brings an old man of House Penrose with you, boy with purple eyes, to these lands then? Far from your keeps you are.

He looked to Penrose for a fleeting moment, but decided to assert himself despite what he might think. "My keep was stolen by a usurper and a coward. And one day I will split his body from head to tail with my sword. For I am Rhaegar Targaryen, true heir to the throne of the Seven Kingdoms. You will be one of a number of corpses I create on the path to claiming my throne." he unsheathed his sword

"What if that tune arrives, by little birds' doing, to the ears of the Usurper? What would we do then?"

Penrose unsheathed his sword and pointed the old man with the blade.

"I'm afraid, bandit, that you shall pay in blood what you heard today. I am Ser Cortnay Penrose, sworn sword to his Grace, Rhaegar Targaryen"

For a second, Harrold would glance from Penrose to Targaryen, looking at the two of them. Then he bellowed out laughing, his voice echoing across the range they were in.

Then I must truly be the descendant of the Hammer of Justice! Hahahaha!!

He had not gotten a good laugh like that in a long time. It put him in a good mood, stepping aside for the two travelers.

You two have entertained me well today, how about I just let you both cross without any pay necessary.

"Scared?" Rhaegar inquired

Harrold grins at Rhaegar, shaking his head confidently.

Most people who past by here are cowardly nor give much of a fight. I see no point in ruining the good mood you have given me.

The Mud Knight then waves his hand forward for them to go before sitting on a rock close to the road.

I may be a ruffian, but I was taught some knightly manners by my father. Reason why they call me the Mud Knight.

"You might be a knight but you wanted to rob us"

Said Penrose.

"What do you want... ser? Who was you father? You don't look Essosi at all"

Knights aren't respected here and my low-birth prevents me from doing much in this land of merchant princes. Can't blame me for trying to make a living.

Harrold leans back against the rock, crossing his arms slightly.

Name is Harrold Mudd. Me father was Harsley Mudd, a mercenary of the Golden Company before he retired and settled in Pentos.

"House Mudd of the Riverlands?" Rhaegar queried

Aye. My father told me the stories of our ancestor, the Hammer of Justice, and how our family came to the East before an age of petty kings befell the Riverlands.

Harrold scratches his beard slightly before looking at the two.

Father says we are descended from a line of Mudds, from Tristifer V, the Last Mudd, that managed to escape the Riverlands. One of our branch fled into the North as the Andals came and another eventually came to Essos.

"Then we are both outcasts, ser." Rhaegar concluded

Harrold makes a clicking noise with his tongue against his teeth.

​I like the term exile better. Outcast makes me think nobody wants the Mudds.

Rhaegar, although only thirteen years old, knew what it meant to be unwanted. "Not nobody, ser." He decided to seize the initiative. "Ser Mudd, if you would serve me, then you would share your exile with the rightful King of Westeros. Such an exile will not last forever, and when i return to claim my throne you would be rewarded."

Penrose couldn't help himself. He started laughing.

"A Mudd"

He even started to cry.

"A MUDD! Oh gods!"

He leans to Rhaegar.

"Reward him for what exactly? What need do we have for him now? Not only have you exposed your cover, my prince, but are also willing to accept a miscreant in our company"

Penrose looked at the "exile" with contempt.

ooc: Seriously, LM, couldn't you have imagined a more ridiculous background for your char? Unbroken line since the last Mudd King? For centuries? In the exile... yeah. Right. Also your char popping out of the blue and Rhaegar telling who he is inmediately is far too convenient. This was clearly arranged beforehand and it's the cheapest rp decision I've ever heard. This is all lame and extremely silly.

OOC: Actually, Oz, its all made up. Harrold isn't truly a Mudd, he is actually a bastard and made up his lineage cause he believes he is a Mudd. And yeah, it was arranged with Ponti that I would make a retainer for him. Thought I could get involved and help out Rhaegar. But never mind, I will try for something more logical perhaps later on. Ponti, we can make new plans later, okay?
