    Default Sins

Boremund entered the Sept and asked for the High Septon. He waits him praying at the feet of the Father.

The High Septon, a rotund man in his sixties, shuffles slowly towards Lord Tarth. He was clad in richly ornamented robes adorned with the Seven-Pointed-Star; a similarly designed amulet hung from around his swollen throat.

"My Lord Tarth. What can I do for a true son of the Seven, such as yourself?"
With a sickly smile plastered across his chubby face, the Septon's chin wobbled as he spoke.

    Tarth kissed his hand piously.

"Have you heard about Ilsa Corbray your Holiness?"

    Said Lord Boremund.

"The Lady Commander of the Goldcloaks?" He replied, pretending to think heavily of the answer.
"I have indeed, Lord Tarth. It is indeed against the scriptures that women should fight, or hold such office as the protector of our noble city." Weak was his voice, as weak as his fleshy, corpulent self. A twisted look of outrage formed on his face, as if terribly staged, and his fat fingers toyed with the star that hung from his neck.

    "An abomination"

Said Tarth. He piously made the sign of the star over his ample chest.

"She has bedded men and is pregnant. Outside the holy bonds of marriage! And a woman of her birth! The King doesn't notice her perfidy, your Holiness. She is a sinner. Will the Faith let her walk around the city? An example of vice, temptation and heresy? She is a traitor actively plotting against me, but worst of all, she's an heretic, a woman behaving like a man and holding an office that should belong to a man. What will the Faith do with that unruly child?"

Will the High Septon take action?

    1-5: High Septon refuses
6-10: High Septon requests a hefty bribe before taking action.
10-15: High Septon issues a meek denouncement.
16-20: High Septon issues a hefty denouncement, calling on the faithful, and the King, to take action.

    Roll: 7.

Licking his lips, the High Septon rubs his fat hands together and clears his throat, a disgusting sound.

"Well, should the faithful provide concrete, physical proof of their faith in the will of the Seven, blessed may they be, then the divine, with me as their instrument, shall take righteous action."

    "My faith cannot be doubted"

He said. He made some numbers in his head.

"I will restore every sept in my dominion and I will donate seven times seven thousand golden dragons. Enough to feed ten thousand men for a whole year. A most pious sum"

Nodding his head fervently, the Septon's entire face trembled with the weight.

"Of course Lord Tarth, it cannot be. Your faith is absolute. As is mine own, in the Seven providing divine retribution."

    Rolls:
1-4 meek denouncement (due to large bribe modifier)
    5-10 heavy denouncement.

    Final roll: 8.

Guess it is my time to write a denouncement, then.

"I thank your Holiness. The faithfull shall rejoice. I will pray for guidance"

Tarth kisses his hand and after the septon leaves he kneels and resumes his prays. His heart beating fiercey inside his chest. Things were escalating quickly and Tarth was already feeling remorse and grief.

A pregnant woman. Gods, why I did this? Suddenly I felt an inner fear devouring my innards. I can face anyone sword it hand, but shadows frighten me

He looks upwards, to the Father's serious and unforgiving face.

Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. Purge my fears and my sins. Purge them... with fire?

A weird look appears on Tarth's eyes. Suddenly, a realization.

Fire, fire is on my blood too. Greatness and madness. A coin tossed.

    He was sweating profusely.

Was he another Aerion? Another Maegor? Had the curse of madness taken grip on him?

    Tarth keeps praying.
