    Default Female units?

Since its fantasy and Dawn of War: Soulstorm has sisters of battle and theres overall quite a few female units in the game, I imagine that Fantasy warhammer would have plenty of female units as well?

I just like having the variation, all I have seen is some heroes.. Bretonia's sisters and I believe vampires and wraiths are female? But thats it.

I assume that there are such units and heroes though and they might be added as DLC?

what. i was under the impression valkia was the only female and that doesnt really count.

the only female units i can think of are those avelorn archers and the witch elves when it comes to normal units. there are several female heroes and whatnot though.

There's not a lot in the Warhammer Fantasy Battle line up, but that line up is really old, unbalanced, and hasn't been worked over properly by a dedicated team in many years. I would expect, and hope, that CA adds their own units to flesh out army lists that haven't been updated since before 8th edition (which they're going to have to if they want to make factions like Tilea and the Border Princes into if not viable then at least recognisable forces). If they do that then there's scope for them to add a few.

So, how about suggesting females from the Warhammer Fantasy lore that could be added to the game, useful ones of course, then you might get more positive backing.

A large portion of elf warriors are female, so maybe when we see wood elves, high elves, and dark elves you'll see a nice mix of females into the army.

I mean idk what to tell you. Warhammer was made (the lore) a long time ago. Sure today's culture is to over represent women in warfare (statistically), but CA isn't going to just invent stuff that isn't in GW lore.

So banshee's, damsels, vampires, and another few odd units here and there will be female...

But I wouldn't expect anything major before we get elves. Not that you can really tell if an elf is female or male from a tiny model. Male elves are femanine looking TBH, and female elves are tall and stocky

There are few female only units that really matter in WHFB. The only real "fighting" force that comes to my mind, would be the Amazones

but they were only a "dogs of war/regiment of renown" und and not really build up to be a army (even if there is a fanmade armybook).

    Elves have few "female" units

    or Daemons

    The sisters of Sigmar (Mordheim)
    http://www.solegends.com/citcat2004u...usp1003-00.htm
come also to mind, but they were few in number and nothing upt to scale for fielding units or entire armies.

I doubt we will ever see something like 40ks "Sisters of battles" in WHFB. But, we could have several more options regarding Lords/Heroes. Female wizards in the Empire exist. Warhammer Online had female Witchhunters & Sigmar Priests. Female Vampire Lords are possible and also female Dwarfs are a possibility in leading roles. Like Queen Helga

or also the female classes from Warhammer Online.
But that is up to CA (DLC/Patces) or the modders.

Its ok, theres no need for every possible group to be represented in a game just to satisfy SJWs which is impossible since they will always find something to complain - im waiting for "CA is racist, no black men in Empire wtf!". Women were not present on the battlefields in real life and even in Warhammer universe humans are still humans. Female Vampires, Banshees, mages etc are fine but female halberdiers or knights would be ridiculous.

Think elvish units are mixed male and female because they're basically all one big androgynous heap anyway. Most of the Warhammer Fantasy Battle lore is a couple of decades old so they'll probably have to update it so it's not so dated. The Warhammer Age of Reckoning game was pretty clear that everybody can be pretty much anything militarily and nobody complained then.

    Tomb Kings
    - Queen Khalida

    High Elves
    - Alarielle the Everqueen
    - Also I recall that the Everqueen has her own bodyguard made up of female elves of her court.
    - Given that there is mass conscription of Elven units it would stand to reason that there are high elf maids who are part of the standing HE army. There is mention in a HE Warhammer Fantasy book that there is at least one High Elf Swordmaster of Hoeth and several Shadow Warriors of Nagarythe.

    Dark Elves
    - Mortathi the Hag Queen
    - Dark Elf sorceresses
    - The Eponymous Witch Elves

    Dwarves
    - Their are priestesses of Valaya
    - Not sure about anything else as the priestess of Valaya was mentioned in a Gotrek and Felix book and thats all I can recall

    Empire
    - Someone mentioned the Sisters of Sigmar, I'm not familiar with them but hey its a thing.

    Wood Elves
    - Ariel Queen of Athel Loren
    - I remember a few of the Wood Dancer models being female

    Bretonnia
    - The Fay Enchantress
    - Also correct me if I'm wrong but I recall their were a few legends of women dressing up as knights, achieving fame, and then befalling tragedy.

Bretonnia also has prophetesses as lords, although they should never be used as faction leaders

When looking at the sisters of battle in warhammer 40k, they seem well armored for the most part and a bit butch, to me they generally look just fine to fight. Especially in a setting where dudes walk around with shoulderpads larger than their head.
Personly I'd quite like to see tough women fighting. Only mages and archers would not need to look as tough or as armored, I imagine especially with elves there would also be female archers.

With the vampire counts, they likely wouldnt look pretty either and to me thats really not the point. It could actually be pretty cool to have an undead leader inspired by norse godess Hell, half beautifull and half a rotting corpse.
Either way, this setting has room for women. More so than in rome 2 total war where they also added quite some female units.

    Yeah but
A)she is no "Lord choice" and since all LLs so far are Lord choices...
B)her suicide was around 2051 and the game plays around 2502 IC.
C)she was more or less supporting her husband instead of rule on her own
So I say slim chance that she will have a go (besides a "Vampire Wars mini campaign DLC which will feature more on Vlad then her).

    Neferata
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Neferata
on the other hand would be alive, was a Lord choice (last in 5th edition) and would make sense for a LL featuring maybe a more "Lahmian" approach in gameplay.

Well, Isabella is not technically dead and not only supporting if we include End Times to it (plus Vlad), although I would like for End Times never to happen.

Agree with this. End Times and everything since then has been GW shamelessly trying to make money off the Warhammer Fantasy setting while at the same time lazily feeding it into a paper shredder. Total War doesn't need to bend a knee to GW when it comes to lore, especially since GW have made it clear they consider Fantasy Battle a dead IP, they should just take the series off in its own direction.
