Building a Keep in Byford- New Crossing
Axel Tully, the most reserved Tully brother was sent to assess the new land and begin preparations to build a suitable keep there. This was a position that offered great defensive capability, and being the only bridge crossing the River for miles, it offered great positioning. He knew House Gaunt may not be the biggest fans of the decision of the King, but that wasn't his concern. His concern, to make this into a defensive holdfast that was also a haven for traveling merchants.

Re: Building a Keep in Byford- New Crossing
The men employed by Axel were of the same rung of people that constructed the Twins themselves. Lord Tully was hoping to build something similar. He wanted an area of course that seemed more merchant friendly also. Axel set plans for the open area just beyond the walls to not be as narrow as other keeps. He would prefer narrow hallways of the Keep, no larger than two men at a time. Defense was his thought process for this. He wanted towers over the bridge, and that bridge to be converted into a draw bridge. Stables for horses in plenty were arranged and thick walls to prevent grappling. Axel told his Lord brother this would cost extra, so Warrick doubled his investment. The land was relatively flat, Axel thought he would have quite the defensive hold of the area when it was finished. Then Axel had an idea, and left his project to the engineers for a short time.

Axel arrived back at his land with engineers from Oldtown. They would assist in constructing a large and profitable keep. He was interested in seeing their innovation.

Small keep will have +4 siege defence (minor castle), 20,000 Dragons income and 500 points of levy. Using the ruined holdfast rules you'll need 60,000 Dragons to build it.-------I've put 150,000 dragons into it with RPd help from engineers from Oldtown, 30,000 of that 150,000 is from Hightower himself.
Rushbridge will be its name. It will lie on the river between the Rayonet and Chyttering Brook provinces.
Hoping for if I can get further rolls or help on bonuses, I will RP more of construction coming up.
Axel Tully returned to his budding Keep with his new wife, formerly Lady Hightower. He returns also with engineers and construction masters from Oldtown. They were to help him construct walls and sections for the Maesters and potential markets. It was first and foremost however, a defensive position. The bridge was meant to be turned into a draw bridge, and access north and south on the River restricted by wall and gate.

[OOC: You'd gain bonuses from using that money to invest in buildings and edicts, that's why they're there. Since you did actually go and negotiate for superior engineers and secured income from Oldtown to improve the keep you can buy the Tier I +Siege Defence building with the money given and have it start off as 'built' rather than having to wait a week for it.]
