Default Riverlanders left out to dry

While the King and Tully had their private meeting, the Freys stood in the Red Keep with the other Riverlords. Walder sighed out of boredom and walked aimlessly around the Keep. "Wonder what was so important they had to leave us out." Edywn commented. "The King won't be offering us any benefit for calling our troops and marching all the damn way down here, that's what." Walder replied. "If he thinks I'm going to muster my troops at his own whim every time he feels threatened, he's wrong. I'm no Kingsguard."

ooc: figured I'd give a place for the other Riverland lords to chat while Aerys and Tully work things out. I'll also expect some replies from Tully once they're done

Warrick Tully arrived with his brother in tow. He comes with his Darry squire and finds Lord Frey. He gestures to any Lord around. Let us go to my quarters.

Walder followed the young man, but found he could not contain himself. "Well? What is to be done?"

Warrick was silent until he thought they were in his temporary quarters and he was confident they had privacy.
They granted my House a bridge in Byford and the lands surrounding it. I am to construct a keep to help serve as a guardian of traffic and watching eye to the south. He also called for a betrothal, between my daughter and his son when they both are of age.

Warrick said simply though he felt every bit slighted. He knew his people would as well.

Walder looked nonplussed. "So we are to build a keep at our own expense...and House Tully gets a betrothal to a Prince who can barely spell his own name?" Frey gave a dark laugh. "He might find his Royal Army lacking banners next time he calls." House Frey had been treated as a second class Lordship. This would not be tolerated. "Lord Tully. I once again request the priviledge of Oldstones. Granting my family, and particularly my son, this boon would be much to strengthen our lands in the long run. If my House is to be constantly marshaled and sapped of energy, we must open up new routes of income and revenue. The King demands much, and if we vacillate too much in our efforts, we may raise his ire. Even those who do his will are seldom rewarded with anything short of extra burdens." Frey thought about it some more. "In fact, I would wager it is the King's strategy to Keep the Kingdoms weak in order for them to pose no threat to his increasingly...tyrannical rule."

    Thats enough Lord Frey.
Warrick said definitively but not rudely.
We have been given little but aside from that we did not lose anything but some gold and supplies. Oldstones shall stay as it is and that is the last I'll hear of it for now. We must build what we have not excavate old ruins.

"Bah!" Frey replied. "The banners of House Frey will not be so easily summoned next year!" He turned on his heel and left the room, fuming.
