One thing to correct: You gain additional trade goods by trading for them with other players. As such you need to approach houses with the goods you want and convince them to trade with you. As such if you want grain, you can go to Riverlands houses that have an open trade route of their own and see about getting an agreement.

Other than that, you seem to have hit on everything correctly!

A reply from Darry states that at the moment there is no surplus of grain to be traded as it is already being sold to Highgarden and King's Landing.

A raven is sent to the new Lord Manderly, the letter bears the gray wax and direwolf of House Stark. Overlords of the North. Within the letter he is requested to come to Winterfell to speak with Lord Rickard, who will be returning North from the capital for a spell in the following month.

As the facilities required weren't ready, Lady Tarth sends another proposal of trade, his time between Hadlow Keep and White Harbor. Hadlow Keep is ruled by Selwyn Tarth, lady Alys' son and heir.

A raven arrives from Kingslanding, though it bares the seal of House Stark.

    To Lord Karl Manderly,

It is my pleasure to announce that you're bastard born son, Harold, will from here on out be Harold of the House Manderly. Within you will find a signed writ by the King and myself as your liege lord, marking him fit to bare your name and hold lands, and titles. He may fall in the line of succession where you see fit, should you chose to marry and have children. I thank your house for its loyalty and dedication to Winterfell.

Your faithful liege, Rickard of the House Stark
