Disputed Lands

[Pericles of Athens]

Hundreds of ships, filled with thousands of soldiers from the Golden Company and Tyrosh, fall ashore in the disputed lands. Tom jumps onto the sand and draws his blade. He shifts his eyes about the burnt out land. As night draws in they set up camp atop the nearest hill in relation to the ocean. Scouts are sent out to judge where the enemy forces are.

OOC: Question, does the Golden Company know that the enemy forces are still within the Tyroshi side of the Disputed Lands or are they in the other regions (Myrish or Lyseni)?

OOC: From what I understand Tyrosh has lost all its land in the Disputed Lands, from the convo in Tyrosh with the Tyrant, and we'll have to take it back.

Scout result: 18, 80% accurate information is brought back to Tom by his scouts.

The information gathers that the enemy forces are encamped along the Tyroshi-Myrish border. Numbers on the troops are relatively accurate with only a slight margin of error.

The Golden Company and the troops provided from Tyrosh (Gandalf said 8,000 troops were available and Silvertongue agreed to march, not sure how many he's gonna bring) march to meet the Myrish host. This was one of the fiercest host the Disputed LAnds had seen since Maelys died.

Myr, believing that the Golden Company was weak and demoralized, sends a minor force against their foes, unaware that Tyrosh had supplied more troops, handing numerical superiority to the Golden Company. They have camped near the border of Tyrosh and Myr within the Disputed Lands. The scouts bring back word of an army numbering between 10,000 and 12,000 is stationed along those borders to One-Eyed Tom and that the enemy seems encamped. They believe the Myrish foe is overconfident in what is to come so they are taking their time with advancing.

Lashare arrives at the camp of the Golden Company, having spent the last few months overseeing the recruitment and training of his hired soldiers.

Tom marched his men at speed toward the Myrish encampment, with the hopes of taking the unprepared louts by surprise. If they thought the Golden Company weak he would show them just how weak they are. He draws his blade and orders the advance, mounted atop his great beast of war and heading his famed spotted guard. In one hand he gripped his ghastly blade and in the other he hefted a spear, adorned with the gilded skulls of the Golden any.

In the mean time, the Golden Company and their Tyroshi-Myrish allies are discovered by sentries of the enemy camp. However, while they are able to get into formation, it was a hastily made defense. As a result, they are not granted any bonuses. I will roll a couple NPC commanders to make it a little more interesting.

Though the losses for both sides were close, the small Myrish force could not stand against the might of these united forces, resulting in the capture of their two commanders.

The battle had gone all according to One-Eyed Tom's planning. Except for the part where he got a torso wound...

Daemon Blackfyre was luckily on the flank where Tom had fallen from a blow that cut through his armor and exposed his torso to a clean blade. His stomach was missed, but blood was profusely coming out. With Blackfyre in hand, Daemon rushed over and slashed the assailant before he could have a chance at finishing off the One-Eyed pirate. The Valyrian held the ground, defending the wounded Tom as members of the Spotted Guard arrived, with a maester, to patch Tom up. While the pirate was being healed, command fell to the Blackfyre. He could feel eyes upon him, soldier and commander alike, as they awaited his orders and directions. It was the first time that he ever lead a flank or troops for that matter. A horse was given to Daemon, allowing him to mount up and lead the charge of the left flank's troops as they surged forth, crashing down upon the opposing Myrish forces. In the din of battle, Daemon's violet eyes noticed who appeared to be a commander fall into the routing swarm of soldiers. He points his sword where the man had fallen, looking to the Spotted Guard that were with him.

Find that man and take him captive! I want him for ransom!

The order was given and, within a short time, the elite mounted soldiers of the Spotted Guard hauled the Myrish commander from the routing soldiers and dragged him back, as a prized prisoner, to their encampment. As the soldiers pushed the Myrish forces back into the palisades of their camp, word came of another commander who was captured by Liomore's troops on the Center Flank. Though their own forces took losses, the enemy's casualties were far greater. An estimated third of the total forces brought upon them had been slaughtered upon the field of battle. The Golden Company, and her allies, had succeeded in defeating the Myrish forces.

As the soldiers continued with mopping up, Daemon rode back to where Tom was being patched up. He dismounted quickly and went over to the pirate. He flashes a grin at his companion, who had now received two major battle-scars.

Tom sliced left and right, left and right. Cutting down the enemy in throngs. But just as the enemy routed he was got by an Myrish spear to his gut. He howled as he was struck, falling from his horse into the dirt. He spat up blood as Blackfyre came to aid him, alongside his most trusted men. He hocked a clot of blood into the dirt. Aye. He replied as he stood. A bit hungry though.. and I could use a drink. The blue bearded giant grinned, he still held the spear close to his chest. The gilded skulls adorning it sang in the wind.

Daemon looks at the maester who nods, believing it was safe for the pirate to eat something and have a drink. As a stew and drink were sent for, Daemon would sit down beside Tom, looking out at the battlefield for a moment.

A third of their forces were cut down by our own and two notable Myrish commanders were taken as well. Derrick is said to have been wounded too, leg wound this time. Seems you two are starting to garner a collection of battle-scars.

Tom crushed the head of the slain man who had attempted to slay him, his skull shattering and brain being turned to mush. Though the movement jarred him and caused a sharp pain in his torso wound. Tom took a swig of the brandy brought to him, while holding his guts with the other hand. His blue beard was stained with crimson red from the bloody of enemies and his own fluids. Aye, every warrior will eventually get wounds. He laughed. You either get marked or you die, I'll take the latter. He was missing an eye, a deep gash ran through the palm of his left hand, and now a large chunk of his body was sliced open and still leaking crimson. So what do you plan to do Myrish? No matter what we do they'll be coming back, the defeat wasn't whole enough.. they wont take this shame lightly.

After the battle, Lashare rides up to where Tom is to speak with the commander of the Golden Company about their next move. At the appearance of the former Magister-General, one of the prisoners mutters something under his breath.

Lashare, brother! Tom calls to his old friend. You did well out there. He stated taking a gulp of his drink. We were just planning the next stage of the war. Lashare noticed the wound that still bled on Tom, but the giant blue bearded mercenary seemed to be ignoring it. Tell me, what do you think our next move against the Myrish should be?
