Icon5 What's the status of the mod?

Hi, I used to keep track of this mod more than a year ago, and it seemed like a very good project. So, after all this time, how's the mod doing? Has it been released? Is it in a beta stage? Is it alive? If it's not fully released yet, when is the full release date? Thanks in advance for answering

It is alive and very much progressing. Full release will be sometime over the summer, can't really be much more precise than that. We have done 99% of units included in the first release. The main areas that need completing right now is the naval units, building trees, tech trees, rebel factions and scripting (mostly the manpower script). We will be releasing previews of Armenia, Pontus, all 100+ iberian units, Baktria and Ptolemaic Egypt soon.

I'd say there's progress made every day. Our team is very active. The one area we've fallen behind on is previews and the public side of things. It's taken a while, but we have a very committed group of modders.

Thanks for the quick answers guys. So right now, is it playable? Or would it be better to wait for the full release?

I wish you guys had a full public release of whats been done so far, I believe lots of feedback could come from it but I also see why you guys may not want to do a full release.

We'd rather release it fully when its done, we don't see much point in release part of a mod, because the mod isn't yet ready for release in our eyes. We will produce a pack for our beta testers in the coming weeks however. I'll start nagging the guys to do more previews and get ma screenshottin' on.

Not sure if I asked elsewhere about this - my memory is terrible. But will this mod cover only classical period or what it's called - the period of Rome 2, or we'll be able to begin at 3d century BC and end in Attila timeframe with Attila period units? That would be fantastic, to be honest - to see the entire span of evolution/degradation of legions and barbarians in a single campaign.

Patience is required. Give the mod time and when it is released; it will be the most epic mod since EB and RSII. LOTR took three years to make, and look how it turned out to be. In the same way this is the most effective mod team I have ever seen. They work hard and their hard work will be enjoyed during the release. Give it time.

Can I ask how much of the campaign is in progress? 50-60 percent?

It's mostly conceptual, figuring out how we're going to do it. The actual process of implementing it is just a tedious boring process for ABH to do once we've got it all worked out.

There's Hardballer, UMC and myself working on the implementation of those concepts besides of ABH. Putting a figure on the progress is difficult in this state, with several people working on different things which are all required for a complete campaign. I think it's safe to say that most of what the mod will feature has already been mapped out. There are a few notable exceptions, like events and dilemmas (a topic which enjoyed great response in a different thread). Much of what has been designed on paper - sometimes quite literally - is already in the process of implementation or post implementation. Traits would be one of those things, where we've been very secretive with sharing anything despite them being finished. It's our goal to comprehensively preview the new key mechanics that the mod will feature in the near future.

    @Sheriden and Wilhem,

Well its seems like there's a lot of work to do, so take your time. Thanks for answering, and if the campaign is being worked on, then it will be quite good.

Events and dilemmas will be in there for a bit maybe not as a full feature until future releases, and its excellent to see that you've got a goal and a vision for this - this is very good, and traits will be one of the best features, do make it like EB's ones perhaps, not that detailed but lengthy enough.

The units are now 96% done. We have only two factions left to complete, Cappadocia and Colchis. I know we don't reveal that much, it isn't because we don't want to, we just struggle to find the time. A new test version will go out soon and we will send it out to youtubers, who hopefully will take a break from warhammer to check out the updated mod.

If units are 96% done, does that also mean the battle mechanic is finished and fleshed out?
    Woop Woop!

How did you guys solve the problems with the pike phalanx?
Iīve written with both KAM from DeI and Phalangitis from Hellenika about their thoughts on it and even though their mods are for Rome 2, Attila uses the same engine, so there should be the same problems.
Just curiousity on my part, if you donīt want to reveal too much I do understand^^
