trouble with gold edition

hello,i have the retail gold edition and noticed that i couldnt run call of warhammer mod as an admin,because it couldnt find the kingdoms exe.
i tried to start the kingdoms exe but it crashes in the loading screen.
medieval 2 exe works fine,so do the 4 kingdoms campaigns,and call of warhammer also works if i fire it normally.

so i uninstalled everything,run CCCleaner,reinstall everything and still the same problem.

im using windows 8.1,and have used a fix to allow me to bypass a windows update that deactivates secure rom.

forgot to mention that medieval is installed in D:games/medieval 2

sorry for triple post,but i cant yet edit my posts,the reason i want to run the mod as an admin is that it solves the majority of ctds and its really weird that i can run everything else like standard user (even medieval exe runs with administration rights) but call fo warhammer doesnt.
