Tower of the Hand
The tower's small hall is a long room with a high-vaulted ceiling and bench space for two hundred. The private audience chamber is not as large as the king's. Once filled with golden trinkets and adorned with Myrish rugs, wall hangings, and other such finery. Lord Stark has done away with much of these needless accessories and replaced them with Northern furs accoutrements that remind him of home. The Tower also has a solar, and a garderobe. The tower has tall windows.

Re: Tower of the Hand
The Lord Hand Rickard was painting an image of home on a blank lamb skin canvass, from memory he was recreating the standing stones a league outside Winterfell where his father had once executed the condemned. He was wrapped in his own thoughts, the King had sired not one, but two monsters. One born of extramarital lust had died in the throws of its own unholiness, while the other born of his sister's body still clung to life.. a horrible misshapen thing. He tried to shake the thoughts that hounded his inner mind. The King had birthed two monsters, born to the hatred of the gods - one birthed from incest and the other from adultery. But, the nature of the King's personal life was not Lord Stark's business, and he pushed those thoughts aside, replacing them with thoughts of home..

A rapping came at the door in the middle of the night, Lord Hand, Lord Hand! The Kingswood is on fire! Captain Criston Tully sent us to rouse you while he awoke the King.

Re: Tower of the Hand
The Kingswood is on fire? Stark questioned disbelieving. Why, how, who. He thought. We must be swift, there are people in those woods, villages, even entire keeps. He moved to grab his shadow cat pelt cloak and retuned to the door. I go to the ramparts at once.

"And you." she looked out the window to the ominous blaze. "I have taken measures with the Master of Ships to have our children taken to White Harbor, and then on to Winterfell. It has become too dangerous in the Capital."

It has been to dangerous long before this. He replied simply. I can only hope they reach the safety of my kin before madness overtakes the crownlands.

Following the fire Warrick Tully was already on his way to the capital. He arrives less than 24 hrs after the fire looking for his Goodbrother first.

Re: Tower of the Hand
He finds lord Stark in his chambers, looking out the window of his tower over the remnants of the city of Kings. He turns his head to the door as it creaks open. Warrick. He remarks, a hint of relief in his voice. It is good that you have come, but the hour grows late as you arrive. Later than you know. He turns back toward the window, hands gripping the railing tightly.

My brother has sent Ravens. I should have come sooner.
Warrick stood behind Rickard grimly. In his heart, he knew something would need to change.

Re: Tower of the Hand
The King seeks to break the backs of the Tyrells, forcing them into a battle that will cost thousands of lives on both sides. So he might cut off the choicest peices. He began, moving slowly to close the door behind Warrick so someone outside could not hear. And I fear the burning of the Kingswood was no mere accident, the flames were green brother. The same green flames that consumed the prisoners the King had burned alive..

Re: Tower of the Hand
So we have a problem. What's the solution? War would claim thousands. Again.
Warrick said staring at his good-brothers back. This king needed to go... Who knows what would come next?

Re: Tower of the Hand
I do not rightly know, brother. Stark replied in honesty. While It would be asking much of us both and our people to risk our own kith and kin to do our duty. But, I am not certain if there is another way.. I will be honest, I have done my best to reign in Aerys excess, for what little good it's done. He heard a knocking on the door, and turned to open it. My lady wife, how are you? He knew she thought her son had to be controlled, but what cost was she willing to pay?

Re: Tower of the Hand
Shaera entered and greeted the two men. "Lord Husband, and if I am not mistaken, Warrick Tully. Welcome back to the capital." He had grown into a handsome young lord indeed. "I am glad to find you both here. We need to discuss the situation in the Reach and, I think, form a more conservative faction to the King's...exuberance."

Re: Tower of the Hand
Stark placed his hands on the back of his chair. I think he's discarded peace once again, because he needs war. The Lord of Winterfell remarked. I don't think peace suits him.. Just look at the Kingswood. But, he can not be allowed to destroy millennia of tradition. If that doesn't protect the rights of the Lords of this Realm what's to stop him from slicing up the Riverlands or the North?

Re: Tower of the Hand
You and I.
Warrick said simply. He toyed with a coin in his hand.
It may progress. If we do not stand with the realm for the sake of the realm, we will defend him until there is no one to defend us.

Re: Tower of the Hand
He did not like this, Rickard was truly between a rock and a hard place. Truth be told I'm tired. I wish naught but to return home Warrick, though I know not what would become of the realm if I did. He sighed, rubbing his eyes with a gentle touch. If we cannot answer him with steel.. What would you have us do to combat him, brother?
