I'd like to renew (or second) this request. How does one change the sight range for watchtowers -- which file contains the data? I'd like to adjust the range down considerably.

for watchtowers I dont know, for characters theres a line of sight attribute that you can put at plus or minus 5

I think that stuff is hardcoded, I can't recall stumbling upon it yet at any rate and I looked at pretty much every text file to some extent.
No thing is everything. Every thing is nothing.

Re: Line of Sight (Spy,Watchtower, etc) values??
Not sure.. I was trying to find this myself.. I think the map is too revealed by agents, armies. ..settlements and watchtowers..
I think the line of sight for all of these is way too much.. Aside from making the campaign map even more asthetically pleasing in my opinion by not showing everything... I think it will make it more of a challenge to stategically place watchtowers and spies... and if you want to have more map reveleaed.. you have to simply add more watchtowers and have more troops (small armies) spread around (which is actually realistic) to act as outpost and pickets.
Spies are what there name is.. they go to spy a particular settlement or army and should not have the ability to reveal a whole territory...
