Which EXE is the best for RSIII

hi
i am coming back to Roma Surrectum after a very long time and i was wondering which EXE gives you the most fun experience?
also, on what difficulty should i play? i don't want a very hard campaign just a little challenge would be fine for me...MED/MED would be ok i guess?

ALX is generally considered the best option. If you don't have ALX, choose BI.
I myself play on H/H difficulty and I feel it's playing well. There's still lot of income in 1-turn campaign, so you can always recruit fresh troops. Don't choose VH, this mode seems to be bugged.

I haven't played RS for a long time as well so I have more tips for you:
- To build barracks; you need these buildings: tribal justice -> government determination -> annex/client -> oppidum.
- Reinforcements... I miss the shootout/defensive/aggressive stance from MedII. One cannot control reinforcements in this game =(! So always put generals under your own control. I've lost my Cunctator faction leader and couple of other good generals...
