Default how about some devestating encounters?

i was just thinking it would be interesting in this to see some random rebel units spawn that can neither besiege or attack cities, but meerly have a small radius, maybe lying in the ambush position ready to attack if you get to near.

these units would represent random encounters, to give movement on the map a little flair. ( like armies marching and running into some monster)

be really fun if you were just marching along some where, going through a mountainous region and bam, you run into a dragon, or a balrog , or horde or orcs, or troll or something, that while not invincible could inflict some major damage on your army, which would then make people have to use small scout units in front of larger armies so they dont run into these traps. maybe it would be hard to impliment, but it would add alot of atmosphere, and a bit of the "adventuring aspect" to the campaign map so that you must be weary of thing beside just other armies.

Well according to the FAQ, most of the more "monstery" creatures from LOTR aren't being implemented due to restrictions in the RTW engine, but I agree that orcs, bandits or somesuch could be interesting.

I was thinking about this, and on the subject of campaign map interestingness, how about terrain movement modifiers for different sizes of army?
After all, 10,000 men must take longer to move through a ravine in formation than they would going over an open plain. Similarly, a company of horse probably wouldn't have any difficulty either way.

Is this possible? It might help recreate LOTR style passages such as the quick flight through Moria, or the Paths of the Dead.

    Just my little musings...

(although I would actually be pleased to get an answer)
