Unable to install Third Age Total War on my Mac. Please Help.

Hello,
After using wine to convert TATW files (part 1&2 and the patch) I went along with the following instructions however the game kept crashing and even if it did open, it would only open one of the four official kingdoms campaigns.

1. Download the mod you want, and open the installer using a program like Wine.
2. Just make a folder on your desktop and install all the mod files in there.
3. Move the folder "Third_Age_3" (or something like that, the entire mod anyways) into the Mod folder where the 4 Kingdoms campaigns are (Americas, Teutonic etc).
4. Launch Medieval Total War 2, and in the Launcher Option window, go to the "Advanced" tab at the top of the window.
5. Toggle the box that says "Advanced options" and in the text area right next to the box write "--features.mod=mods/NAME OF THE MOD FOLDER", so for my Third Age mod it would be "--features.mod=mods/Third_Age_3"
6. Enjoy

I also tried renaming the Third Age file in the mods folder to "teutonic" and then taking that into account with the advanced settings but that didn't seem to help either.

I've been wanting to play this mod for a couple of years now so being able to install it would be a miracle.

Never mind I was able to install TATW however custom settlements such as Minas Tirith are not working. Is there any way to make them available?

It worked for a while but now when I go to open it, TATW keeps crashing within a few seconds of the loading screen popping up. I've looked around but I haven't found any solutions.

It crashes when you want to start TATW? Have you installed any other submod for TATW? Have you made any changes to TATW files on your own? Was there any update for your Mac recently ( prior to TATW starting to malfunction/crash)? do you play on a laptop or a desktop Mac?

Thanks for the reply! After initially getting TATW to work successfully, I tired to install the MOS submod clumsily by overwriting all of the files in the 'data' section for TATW with all of the MOS files. MOS opened but only for a second before force-quiting. I deleted my MOS and TATW files and downloaded TATW again and did the exact same steps as I did originally however it still force quits after a few seconds. I thought that by deleting all of the files and starting over it would fix whatever problems I created by trying to download the MOS submit. There was only about an hour between successfully being able to play TATW with failing to install MOS and thus creating the problem where I am now.

I play on a Mac Laptop (Late 2013, OS X Yosemite)

Sorry for the late reply, I am in a process of adapting my new flat, so, haven`t been around these last few days.

If you can not get TATW working after installing MOS, then you overwrote something which should not have been overwritten, and, I would advise reinstalling your whole M2TW from scratch IF you can not start any mod/submod made for M2TW and Kingdoms.

When it comes to Windows based PCs, then usually it is User Account Control that interferes with a mod/submod not working.. but, since you have Mac, and I am not familiar with Mac and its Security features similar to Windows UAC ( Mac probably does not have it) then it is probably a wrong installation, or one of the installation steps have been overlooked. One step at a time when installing, and you should be playing TATW in no time.
