    Default Royal War Council

A large pavilion had been set out in the middle of the huge Targaryen Army, a large polished wooden table had been set out, with a huge map on it. The map itself was a sectional wooden map, carved as a copy of the Dragonstone map. There were many military counters set out, showing armies and fortresses. All of the lords and captains of the King were in attendance, waiting for their orders.

The King stood at the head of the table surrounded by his Kingsguard and his nobles. He began the meeting. "Our first order of business in the sllocation of command. Lord Sarric Swann, a Loyalist Stormlander, is appointed as the Royal Warden of the Stormlands, to command Loyalist Stormlander forces until House baratheom returns to the fold or is wiped out.

Lord Andros Brax shall be appointed as the Warden of the Hornvale, he shall take command of Loyalist forces defending the Western borders of the Crownlands, should Lord Tytos Lannister declare for Maelys.

Lord Qoherys Velaryon is appointed to the position of Commander of the Royal fleets and his son, Jacaerys, is appointed to the post of Warden of Blackwater Bay.

Aerys moves over to the map. "I will be taking personal command of the Royal Army, with my Kingsguard as my captains. Are there any questions so far?"

((It should be assumed that all Loyalist commanders from the Crownlands or with troops at or approaching KL are here.))

Qoherys Velaryon was present for the council as Jacaerys was overseeing the levy of the troops and ships from Sharp Point, while his second son, Aegor, oversaw the mustering at Driftmark. He bowed to the King, acknowledging the command.

We will ensure that the pretender will not circumnavigate and seek to strike at King's Landing from the seas.

Sarric bowed his head, his hand on the hilt of his sword
"Of course, your Majesty. The Stormland's shall be the demise of this pretender and his foolhardy army."

Aerys nodded his gratitude to both. "Lord Qoherys, you will take yojr fleets and destroy the Blackfyre ships in battle. I want his retreat back to Essos cut off, as well as his ability to move troops quickly destroyed. In addition to that, we need the victories to inspire the Lords of the Realm. Take the fleets of dragonstone and King's Landing as well, make sure nit a single enemy shio floats upon my seas!"

((Pretty sure my Naval Militia is raised, so add that to your fleet count.))

Aerys turned his attention to Swann, "Lord Swann, you will command one of our hosts, your army will accompany mine to do battle with the Pretender."

Ser Finn Bolton was present, his white cloak hanging limply on his shoulders. He would join the King's charge. He was renowned for his lancework, and he would fell many of the usurper's men before the day was through. He knew better than to presume he would have any command control. That was beyond his skill or training.

Sarric, his voice half hoarse from a life of yelling, battle, and small amounts of drinking, spoke.
"Of course, your Majesty. It will be an honor to be at your side whilst you strike your first blow as King of the Seven Kingdoms."

Ser Lewyn Martell was also present, but like Ser Bolton, stood silent, simply watching the proceedings.

Aerys nodded his approval to Swann. Now was the time to deal troops out to each command. The Kings spoke quickly, describing each host to his lords, as well as which lords would be going where.

    Host of King Aerys II

    3'180 Polearms
    1550 Heavy Infantry
    1450 Light Cavalry
    1744 Heavy Cavalry
    500 Elite Cavalry
    10'000 Light Infantry
    6'576 Archers
    25'000 Men

    Host of Lord Sarric Swann

    17'800 Light Infantry
    6'000 Archers
    23'800 Men

    Host of Lord Brax

    14'899 Light Infantry
    7'933 Archers
    300 Polearms
    100 Light Cavalry
    200 Heavy Infantry
    50 Heavy Cavalry
    23'482 Men

After many hours of discussion, debate and planning, the Loyalists were ready. Aerys concluded the meeting.
"Lord Sarric, your army will follow me to the Wendwater Bridge, we will do battle against the Usurper there. Lord Brax, return to the Hornvale, raise the royal banners and stop the host of Tytos Lannister marching through the Hornvale, the safety of the capital depends upon your tenacity and victory. Lord Qoherys, finish mustering our ships and break their naval strength. Now, my lord, the time has come to march. You are dismissed."

With a large scraping of chairs and shuffling of feet, the many lords assembled marched off to their troops. Aerys returned to his personal tent, where a squire dressed the Targaryen in his armor. Picking up his sword, he mounted his horse as the armies of Aerys and Swann began their march south, while Brax began marching West.

"My King, i will return to Hornvale immediately"
Lord Brax knew he had to be fast otherwise Lord Lannister could pass trough Hornvale without any resistance
after leaving the tent, Andros calls for the return of his and the royal banners.

As the armies marched towards their various destinations, suddenly a small group of cavalry men loyal to King Aerys appears before his company carrying a prisoner, a captured Blackfyre scout that may be of use to his grace.

Mod Note: A 1 was rolled for a failed scout roll. This man may now be tortured and further rolls done on him to try to pry any information from him.

Aerys looked at the man coolly. "Dress him in plate and roast him over a slow fire until he talks. Send a rider with the information to me while I march."

"It shall be as you command, Your Grace!" shouted the cavalrymen, desperate to please their king.

    Main Torture Roll:

    Base: 5/20 roll
Modifiers: +10 for extreme torture method
    Final Roll: 15/20

Rolled a 12, so the scout talks. Due to it being a higher nature end of the success chance, a second roll will be done in case of accidents due to the nature of this torture (ie a stray emeber catching him a flame before he talks)

5/20 chance of that happening, rolled a 6, so it barely passes.

The scout reveals that Maelys Army is at Bronzegate.

After the small defeat at Wendwater and the loss of much of his command pool, Aerys decides to promote prominent captains among his troops to the roll. Among them are Sers Roderick Tanner, Roose Darklyn, Bronn Waters and Tyrion Celtigar.
