    Default To Mr. Dresden

DEI is an awesome mod. Many of its great features remind me good old days with Rome 1's RSII mod. Thanks and congratz to Mr. Dresden and his team. Just wonder if you guys have any plan to create something similar for Attila? Attila in currently state is miserable. Even though mod like Radious was trying to make it better, the work isn't enough. There are still many deficiencies in the game.

DeI wont be ported to Attila. We are not done with this mod yet.
But its not like there isnt any overhauls for Attila. Europa Peri... something is a very promising overhaul that also seeks to vastly improve many, if not all aspects of Attila. And it has recently been made compatible with Fall of the Eagle, a battle and unit overhaul many enjoy.

Yep, right now EP and FotE together are probably the closest you'll get to something like DeI in Attila, but there's a lot of work to be done for both mods.

I don't own Attilla. How do people feel like it compares, and what future plans are there for DEI or other mods for it? I enjoy DEI a lot.

Vanilla Attila is a miserable mess. Mid-late game is a constant grind. You will get bored very quickly. Specifically:
    Diplomacy
    1. The diplomacy is broken. I am 300 pts in green with Ostrogoth. But I can't get anything from them. No marriage, no alliance, no non-aggression pact, no military access. Even if I paid up 20k in gold, still getting stonewalled by by a big red "Reject"
    2. When you subjugate a faction, it is still allied with your enemies. So after a few turns, it will definitely betray you. You basically have no power over your client states. Can't get them do anything. Wonder who is the real master here.
    3. AIs are very smart of generating huge alliance networks against you. Say you are in war with Franks. By the time you march to their doorsteps, the AI will immediate ally with nearby neutral factions such as Alaman or Longobars and make them declare wars on you. After you move onto these new enemies, they will in turn drag more factions into against you. So there is no allies (you can't get any anyway), just constant new wars against you.
    Campaign Mechanics
    3. Campaign wise. AIs are so ridiculous. If you play a horde faction like Hun, your enemy will chase you from the borders of India all the way to the coasts of English Channel. AIs basically do nothing but sending full stacks after you. So mid-late game you are basically fighting 3-4 stacks per army every turn.
    4. AI's kingdoms are a mess. Some factions have capital city in Britain, but many territories down in Spain even though they are thousands of miles apart. That makes killing any Barbarian factions so hard. First you have to spread your forces all over the map to find each of their cities. Then after you raze all of their cities, they becomes horde. Then you have to go find each of their horde armies to destroy. As long as they have a single army left, they will find a quiet corner to resettle and recoup. Once they are strong enough, they will repeat the process of sending stacks after stacks after you again regardless of how far they are from you.
    5. If they can't send stacks after you for some reason, they will pester you with swarms of agents. The chance of their low lvl agents to kill your high lvl generals or agents is pretty darn high.
    Battle Mechanics
    1. Always 2-3 stacks gank on one of your own. No ambush, no tricks. Just brutal forces of large numbers. I am in turn of 140 of Hun's campaign and I have probably killed half a million worth of enemy troops. Many battles, I killed 6-7k, 8k or sometimes even 10k of those little ants. I wonder what % of then European population has fallen under my sword?
    2. Some of the units are just extremely unbalanced. Take warhounds for example. Those are not dogs; they are guided missiles. They can chase you in extremely neat formations from one end of the map to the other without getting tired. You can't target your arrows on them. The only thing you can do to those running mutts is to sacrifice some cheap units to intercept. Let them get chewed up by dogs.
    3. Some unit's special ability is just simply ridiculous. You can cut down a noble germanic sword to 1 last person. As long as it has shield wall on, it won't break. The only way you can make it rout is to disengage and let the buff to wear out. But by disengage, you will suffer a lot of casualties.
    4. Some of the vanilla units are just plainly BS. Take Hunic first wave lancers for example. It's a Tier 3 shock cav unit, but it's practically unarmored and rated as a light cav. If you do cycle charge with it, it will suffer horrendous losses when pulling out. If you leave it in to grind out, it will get chewed up cuz of its low melee attack. So what is the purpose of this being a high tier unit?

I gave up on playing the game. Until we have a decent mod that can significantly transform the game, I'll stay away from it. The only thing I like about the game is its cavalry battles. I am always a fan of using massed cav.

I think we kindda gave the answer to your last question already. EP and FotE are the closest you will get to something like DeI for Attila. Many of the same people are working on these mods and many others who are also extremely skilled.
There are a lot of features from Attila that makes it a better modding platform.

I imagine scrapping all the work done for Rome II to move to Attila would be a mountain of work

Plus we would have to delete many factions due to different campaign map.

Another subtle failing of Attila is its morose, boring UI and general art direction. Thing was ugly and profoundly uninteresting.
