Dynamic names for factions?
All -- hi,
looking through the faction list, I can see various duchies and counties... will these factions be able to 'upgrade', like in Crusader Kings? It seems a bit silly if we play as Flanders, conquer all of France, but are still known as the County of Flanders...
Same with Burgundy, there was definitely a Kingdom, but obviously not at this point - I suppose scripting would be the way forward with this?

Re: Dynamic names for factions?
Actually we might be able to do that. Now I haven't tried it in practice but it is possible to retrofit the kingdom renaming mechanic from AoC for the Main Campaign. We were planning on using it to reflect if you're Nicaea and you beat out your other Byzantine factions you can become a "Roman Empire" or using it to address some issues people have with Serbia becoming a kingdom 5 years after the starting year etc, etc. I was even thinking of having it if you play as England and you conquer France you can change your name to Angevin Empire. The only issue I have with your suggestion is that I think it might be going a little bit too far into fiction with what names to go with and I don't think we can change the faction icon post name change. But we'll think about it.

Countries that are already entire kingdoms like England probably don't need one, but a lot of playable factions will have a clear upgrade, whether it's going from count/duke to king, or reuniting a shattered realm.
