Don't you need to Hellenize provinces to be able to recruit Phalangites?
Though I'm fairly sure that this means that regions are the larger units and provinces the smaller units within them. Which means since the trait specifies province, it would only affect the one province. Makes alot more sense honestly as well. BecauseThose regions & the provs they consist of are:

Wouldn't make sense for Macedonian marshals not to be able to field the troops that they conquered the empire with and then garrisoned it with. All Macedonian Diadochi, as well as Greeks who haven't entered open rebellion against the Macedonian empire (ex. by siding with their fellow Greeks in the Lamian War), will have access to the following Hellenistic units:

What's the point of the Hellenizing rules then?
We get a money bonus at the start of the turn?
Yeah do we need to Hellenize a province before recruiting hoplites? I would assume that because we are Hellenes we would have troops already or the troops would come to us.

At the start of the game you get double your yearly provincial income to build a starting army that is instantly recruited.
All Hellenic Diadochi historically had large units of Macedenonian and Greek troops under their command initially. The rather large standing army Alexander had and the garrison forces for the provinces had to go somewhere.

Is it ok for me to create a RP thread where i post Antiochus' tale's about his life and the other diadochoi through his POV? Some sort of Roleplaying overview about the lifes of our char's through his POV?

I don't think anyone would mind.
Also, you can only have two trade agreements at one time. So you'll have to pick only two of the people asking you for them.

Yeah, I agree that the diadochi should start with segments of Alexander's army (and thus plenty of settlers to settle down in poleis), but shouldn't Hellenization be required to recruit further units if you're anywhere east of Pergamon?
Without Hellenic units I would be left with only two infantry units to choose from. Not quite accurate for Egypt considering Alexandria is a Hellenic city.

Looking over the Hellenization rules..
Maybe you're supposed to only recruit Hellenic units at expensive rates (like double) until you Hellenize?
Well, hopefully Barry comes online to clarify about Hellenization and how it works/what it does..
I feel Philip III needs his own thread too, as king of the Macedonian empire.
Veritas Temporis Filia
Yeah, I don't think Hellenic players should have access to Hellenistic units beyond western Anatolia without Hellenization, but I think it'd make sense to split up Alexander's existing army so you'd start with some (good) Hellenistic units. According to the Diadochi Alliance rules thread there should be 20,000 Argyraspidai and 6,000 Hetairoi up for grabs, which translates to 20 1k-man units of the former and 12 500-man units of the latter. You guys can split them up among yourselves, or if you'd like I can do a roll to determine who gets what.
I disagree with this a bit. So without Hellenization (even considering Alexandria was founded as a Hellenic city by Alexander the Great with a Hellenic population) I have access to two units total and both are medium infantry. Kind of inaccurate for Egypt in this time period. I would say at least Alexandria is Hellenized in Egypt. And Kyrene nearby is a Greek city state who should have access to Greek units.
Anyway, I vote we just claim what we want. I've taken 8 units of Argyraspidai and 4 units of Hetairoi.Alexandria was not only a center of Hellenism, but was also home to the largest urban Jewish community

While that's true, Alexandria isn't even a decade old at this point. As I recall it took about a century for it to reach its zenith, and its greatest landmarks (such as the Pharos Lighthouse & the Library) would have still been twinkles in Ptolemy's eye at this point in RL history. Its Hellenic population likely wouldn't have been big enough for an army, the most I can see it providing now are a handful of elite hypaspist or hetairoi units akin to the early stage of Hellenization in the rules.
