Changing generals bodyguard

Hi

i want to change the bodyguard and i need to know which file(s) i need to edit.

Hopefully someone can help.

Open the export_descr_unit.txt file and do a search for 'bodyguard'

This way i can only change the bodyguard of for example all northern europe factions but not for a single faction leaving the other factions untouched.

does anyone know how to change how to change for example the sicilians bodyguard to norman knights now ?

you must add the ability general_unit to the abilities of the normans knights, and after delete de sicily to the owernship of bodyguards. after you will only have generals when you will recruit normans knights. so you d better do that after having creat (copy/paste the norman knights and rename) a new unit. sorry for my english.... it's late in my country.

yes it is like that... and it works in theory not tested with the norman...

I tried the same thing, but only the general appears as my unit of choice, the bodyguards are still default.

I added my unit above the other bodyguards in the EDU, and added general_unit as an ability.
Any one know what I can do about this?

To change the bodyguard units for your starting generals, edit descr_strat.txt as well. The starting armies still specify the old bodyguards.
