Assistance/advice required!

Okay so I've been playing TATW for ages now, never had any problems. I use a steam version and therefore changed the folder name to americas...

I started to get bored after playing all factions and decided to get a submod.

Trying to download MOS somehow screwed with everything, so I re installed everything from scratch and went for DaC instead, all installed perfectly and hadn't had a single issue.

However, the night before last I had an OS update...

Now when I load the game, the ring cursor pops up with the Americas loading screen instead of DaC screen for a sec and then backs out to the desktop without any error message.

I have scoured the forums for similar issues, hoping maybe others had the same problem with the same OS update but I've found nothing on the DaC forums or here.

I am not overly good with computers, and therefore my only option is to uninstall and start again, but I'm worried that all that effort will yield the same result, as well as losing an absolute session of a Dol Amroth campaign.

Does anyone have any advice or ideas as to how this has happened and what I can do?

W10, least when updated to instead of being the original OS, seems to cause issues for some mods.

Hanging on to my trusty W7, I have no input beside on this little point:

as well as losing an absolute session of a Dol Amroth campaign

Back up the savefiles on a USB or a site like mediafire, and add it again after you reinstalled (if it comes to that).
