    To be honest I don't really remember if they can recruit Ents. I know that in Vanilla TATW you could give "autonomy" to Fangorn Forest and have access to Ents but in MOS I don't remember.
    I think that only the Silvan Elves can.

    So i just reunited Arnor, and for the first turn, all that seems to have changed is my culture is dunedain, my faction name is changed and I have access to the eriador veterans building. The second turn after reuniting, I gte the event for Arnor Loremaster and tol acharn, efter which the cursor is stuck in loading mode, and doesn't seem to change ever. What might be the issue here? I have called a Tol acharn earlier, as Eriador, so I already have a Lore-master of Gondor from that.

    The cursor is loading after the Arnor Lore-Master spawns? (Can you use him or cal Tôl Acharns? or you cannot?)
    I know a issue of AI generals getting stuck in a loop crossing the Anduin (but that usually happens in their turn) making the game load forever in that movement.

    I ran into a bug where I can not upgrade settlements, and this continues with new games.

    Have you met all the building and population requirements in order to upgrade your settlements? Or did you edit any of the text files specifically the export_descr_buildings file?

    I have this weird issue and I don't know what it means.

    At some point, when I try to load a saved game (100% of the times after I have shut down and restarted the computer) the game gives unspecified error and crashes to desktop when I try to load one of those saved games.
    It shows the loading screen, then the wallpeper changes quickly into another photo and then boom, CTD.
    And it always happens to the save games I have saved more recently.
    The older ones still load normally, but after I play for some hours and save over them a few times (then close the computer), the next day the saved games always lead to CTD. This issue has happened the latest days.

    I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire TATW but this still persists.

    Does anyone know what this could be? I've had MOS for several months, but that problem issues just recently.

    Hi guys,

    Just wanted to let you know of something I did to reduce CTD to 0 (yes, zero), while playing on the same computer which previously had CTDs during each AI turn.

    I started not playing with a few scripts, such as Tol Acharn, no immortal heroes, no corsairs, none of that diplomacy crap (yay, finally can bash some dwarven heads with my Gondor Cavalry! or get our heads bashed in, but who cares). Point is, with just a few optional scripts turned off, which don't really appeal to me, I was able to have a CTD-free campaign (160 turns and ongoing). And I had huge battles to during AI turns, sometimes even two big battles with the same army.

    Anyway, my two cents, hope it helps somebody.

    Scripts are often double edged swords, enhancing gameplay and possibly inducing a conflict with other scripts thus causing a ctd.

    True. In the Stainless Steel there's a devoted modder who would track also such conflicts - he provided much to the stability of the mod. I think in we should always and always again thank the developers of the TATW submods for doing the same for the TATW.

    I have a small problem, every recruitment building shows:
    Gondor Cavalry (max available:1)(Experiance1) strat.txt:{smt_religion_recruitment_requirement} 66% Dúnedain
    if it is just an optic error, I have no problem with it.
    when i play with the elves i only get 2 guilds, explorer and trade and after a few rounds a ctd.
    is a new installation steam version, never had the problem with the DvD version, but it's broken

    1)"smt_religion_recruitment_requirement" bug is well-known and loved(or not). Steam version of Med-2 refuse to convert some text files to in-game format(strings.bin), namely shared.txt, strat.txt and tooltips.txt. You can do that yourself with BinEditor.
    2)Did you installed all inclusive patch too? If yes, please add to your TATW.cfg file those lines under [log]: logs/system.log.txt, level = * trace, level = * error, then replay those turns, where you getting CTD. You can use Notepad or, preferrably, Notepad++ to add those lines. If you still getting crash, go to Medieval II Total War\logs folder and post system.log.txt file content here.
    Also, try to look around the map with toggle_fow console command - AI pathfinding like to CTD in some locations, like Anduin crossings.

    Not too much info in the log to troubleshoot. Was there anything else? Errors, if they show up, are tend to appear in first 1/3 of the file. If you can post an entire log, under spoiler tag, I'll appreciate.

    Decided to replay MOS 1.7 as High Elves, while hunting down Lt_Regnier's error, and run into another CTD - Peasant Axemen rebels unit crash the game on the battlemap. They got javelins and a new model in MOS, but whoever updated this unit, forgot to change animation to javelinmen in battle_models.modeldb. Seems like an old bug - I've found the same error in MOS-Reunited Kingdom for 1.62.
    Also, can confirm an error with "UTC_kataphract" trigger, and encountered another strange error:
    diplomatic_stance saxons england War
    err: diplomatic_stance stance unknown
    I think it is part of the Diplomacy script. But at the first look, code for saxons(aka Lorien) seems to be identical to other factions.
    This might be a reason of Lorien constant victories against Moria within first 30-40 turns.

    There is something definitely corrupted in your game, I would recommend reinstalling TATW and then reinstall MOS. The error you posted mostly has to do with the settlement viewer, which is odd if you were not looking at any settlements at the time.

    Or settlement viewer could use some fixes
    High Elves campaign, turn 200-something, because of money problems, insane logistics(curse those rivers in Enedwaith) and Mordor hordes. Btw, Lindon longspearmen are not recruitable in Mithlond or Lond-Artharan, at all. Imladris riders could drop 1-2 stable levels - I don't think they are too OP, being AOR-unit and all.     Lt_Regnier, with nothing in the log to work with, I only can make some guesses. Your CTD can be related to either nameless agent getting an Epithet, incorrectly written trigger for a trait(that UTC_kataphract trigger, maybe), or AI army stuck somewhere on the map. Or it is something unknown yet, and reinstall would help, as suggested by MIKE GOLF.
    Honestly, MOS thread need to expand "known bugs and solutions" list, as its pretty difficult to figure out errors encountered during campaigns, and their status - were they found and/or fixed or are new ones.

    Well, the MOS team has not been active for several years now. I have kept an eye on the thread, host the download files on two sites and occasionally reply here when I think I can add something useful, but that's about it.

    The only one still actively working on anything MOS related is of course MIKE GOLF who, from what I have seen, is doing a splendid job making a much improved Reunited Kingdoms mod for MOS 1.70.

    Icon5 MOS Cair Andros Broken

    I'm not sure if this is the place to post this cause I'm a noob so flame me.
    Cair Andros is and has always been massively broken in all my TATW MOS installations.
    When the map loads up in a battle it's all black and 100% of the defending army dies instantly, all but 10-20 attacking troops die instantly.
    I'm coming here from the steam forums, where I was informed that my problem was so unique that this might be the only place I can get advice.
    Here are my questions:
    Has this problem surfaced before, and how can I fix it?

    In all of my Gondor/Mordor games I have to put a full stack of units to deter attacks, because defenders always get wiped out by the bug.
    I won't go as far as to call it game breaking, but it's excruciatingly annoying to play around.

    Regards with hopes of a resolve.
