Default Help please - stainless steel for mac

Would anybody with a vanilla version of SS 6.3/4 be kind enough to upload their zipped SS folder for me to download?

Since I'm on a mac, I can't use the .exe installer, but the mod will work fine if I can get the SS folder and drop it into my mods folder manually.

Just download Wineskin and use that to run .exe files. There are several different programs that you can download to run .exe, but i recomend Wine. It is a bit hard to use the first time, but i am sure you will get the hang of it.

I've tried Wine as well, and haven't quite figured it out. Which options do you have to tick?

I've dealt with wineskin in the past and can't stand it.

I'm trying to get as many different mods in .zip format to make it easier for people like me who aren't willing to go through the hassle of setting up a windows emulator just so we can access the files that work perfectly well on our mac.

All it takes is one good samaritan to spend 2 minutes zipping up their SS folder and sticking it on megaupload and it saves potentially hundreds of people having to go through the hassle of figuring out a quite unintuitive 3rd party app to get around an installer, who's main purpose is ironically to make life easier for people who aren't that great with computers.

Hey I solved it by downloading wineskin winery (not wine, which is something slightly different).

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Once I booted that up I had to upgrade the engine (there's a button in the app to do it), then the create wrapper button (immediately below) went from being greyed out to being clickable.

I Created a wrapper and it told me to name it, so I gave it a name then used it to open the ss6.3 installer.

The files will go to c:/sega/mods/tw or something like that. Just let them go there for the time being and install ss6.4 using the same method. It should install to the same folder as ss6.3.

Once you've done that, if you do ctrl + click on the wrapper and 'open package contents', you can navigate to the c:/sega/mods folder (there's only a few folders in the wrapper so it's easy to find) and drag the folder ss6.3 from there into your actual mods folder.

After that it should work like any other mod.

Thanks for the report! When you say you "used [the wrapper] to open the ss6.3 installer"...I'm not seeing how to do that. It let me create a blank wrapper, but then told me I couldn't open it, and there was no way for me to point it in any way to SS.
