The Last Roman DLC Plans?
Hey guys,
Are you planning to incorporate The Last Roman DLC and create a mini-campaign for this era?
It will be amazing due to the larger number of settlements for each region.
Thanks.

Re: The Last Roman DLC Plans?
I've asked similar questions myself. They may use the DLC campaign maps but nothing concrete will be decided until they've done a grand campaign. Personally I think using the Charlemagne map would be more likely as it allows the inclusion of Brittanic factions and some nordic. Personally I don't see as much interest amongst players to play north african countries as to play England etc. (Oh and HRE could be included in Charlemagne map).
However, the Last Roman would be pretty good for a map focused on the reconquest of Hispania.

Re: The Last Roman DLC Plans?
Regarding DLC stuff like this. We are designing the mod to not need any DLC for it to run and don't have any plans to make expansions for said DLC maps. (I don't own Last Roman and Ltd doesn't have AoC I think) However if anyone wants to make submods for MK covering those maps they have our blessing and don't need to ask permission. (If you're serious and show promise I could send you my templates to ease things along but you need to earn it) I think there's some modders who told me they want to make a Hundred Years War submod for AoC at some point for example.

Re: The Last Roman DLC Plans?
Would it require any more than editing the startpos to assign the Grand Campaign factions to AoC settlements? Or would there be some tedious work involved in getting the MKTW units and buildings to work in the AoC campaign?
The AoC map would definitely be better than the Last Roman map, for anything but a heavily Italy focused campaign. Everywhere else has low city density compared to AoC, except Africa of course, but TLR Africa still doesn't have enough regions to make it interesting enough to justify using the TLR map over AoC, even if you're really interested in Africa. And of course, AoC includes lots of Germanic and Slavic lands, in addition to adding Britain and Pannonia.
The Almohads lacking their African homeland would be a big problem of course, but having 10 vs. 5 full provinces for Spanish wars makes up for that. Their African lands could be represented by a wonder like the Ma'rib dam, that gives them the income and imperium that would be expected from holding Morocco (i.e. "Port to Africa" in Cadiz). If we want to get real fancy, there could be an event chain that would require tough choices be made to prevent the Marinids from taking over Morocco, which in game terms would just mean the permanent destruction of your "Port to Africa" building, or perhaps even a spawned Marinid invasion... but that's a whole other level of work.
