Default Winning a siege battle causes my income to go crazy -- feature or bug?

I have noticed that when my city is under siege and I win the battle, my income will jump by about 20,000 the next turn. So instead of making 3000 income, I will make 23000. It will only last one turn, at which point my income goes back to normal.

Is this a feature or a bug? I have posted about it before (a long time ago) but did not find an answer. Now (after reinstalling SS6.4 years later and playing a bit) I noticed it again.

    My settings are:
    SS6.4
    Gracul AI
    VH/VH
Byzantine late campaign, about turn 40

The city was small and doesn't make a lot of money (less than 1000 per turn). I can't figure out why breaking an enemy siege would net me 20,000 additional income

    never experienced such thing

does the income come from the town itself or it just materializes in your treasury ? i mean without opening any scroll does your city on the campaign map show that it's making 23000 ?

the only solution i see it to open console and type add_money -20000, you could maybe play like that till someone posts a better one

The added income is divided between cities, like Icononium goes from 2500 per turn to 5500, Byzantium from 3500 to 5500, etc., only for one turn. Then it goes back to normal. Money in general seems all over the place in this mod...I was supporting 10 full stacks +recruiting and building by turn 35 or so.

i think i did experience such thing when playing in hotseat mode, when changing factions i think i benefited from the AI dificulty bonuses

    sorry i cant help you
