Are there any plans for adding new campaign music to the mod?

The coma inducing vanilla music, save for one particularly nice track, is a game breaker. After the Rome 1 music mod stopped working (patch 17?), I stopped my brief affair with DeI and Vae Victus -- as brilliant as these mods are, gamers who need total overhauls are currently left out. So much work has been done in every other area, but there doesn't appear to be even one new track added to the repetitive campaign soundtrack. Forgive me if tracks have been added to popular factions like Rome and I've just not played them. There aren't any public submods either, save one that uses totally ahistoric synth-based music.

CA hasn't made it easier for the modders... In order to make music mod(s) for Rome 2, you need to understand that it doesn't work like RTW... Can't have it all in one.

You would need 1 music pack per faction. Can you imagine what would mean for a mod like DeI?... The way to go is to make: 1 pack for Romans, 1 pack for Hellenistic factions, 1 pack for Easterlings, and so on. And you would need a lot of tracks for each faction. I recently did a mod like that for the Hellinika mod. I made 1 pack for Greeks, and I need to make a separate one for Persia.

But I agree with you, on the music thing.

You don't notice it stopping completely when you play?

    Holler if you find one.

Yeah I modded music files in M2TW and made my own overhaul music mod for when I occasionally play A Proper Empire (ETW) basking in my love for soundtracks like Last of the Mohicans, Master & Commander, along with some wild period classical music, but what you describe is worse than I thought. I was already deterred by the new program I'd have to learn. However, someone who knows that and has the luxury of free time could easily do what you describe

@KAM I think a lot of DeI players already use the non-steam TWC version anyway. An offline submod would surely be welcomed.

Been using RTW music mod for the last like 4 months. No problems. At all.

Best RTW track was Into Greek. Every time I hear it I wanna rip my shirt off, grab a spear and start stabbing Persians.

But there is already a couple of Music mods that is perfectly compatible with DeI. I think KAM once worked on a Music mod for DeI but idk how that went.

If we do not want DeI to be taken down like most of music mods, then we won't add it. Plus we would need to buy more copies of Rome 2 to store it, Dresden has like 5-7 copies of Rome 2 just to store current version on steam.

    It could be unofficial...

5-7 copies.... I'd like to shove those copies, one by one, to CA's throat....

Isn't the Rome 1 music mod working again? I think the steam version is updated. Although I had to download it manually and do some stuff with the file to get it working on Mac.

I've been using the official Rome 1 music mod all the time, so I think it should work just fine. If it's not, then I probably haven't recognized the problem so far...

Nonetheless I also hoped that they would eventually add some unique music to DeI but I understand why they're not doing it considering what KAM said.

My favourite soundtrack for an ancient total war game has been the Roma Surrectum one... Don't know if any one has made it compatible with Rome 2 so far.

Do you use standalone DeI or steam version?
Wondering if there's a problem using a mix, because I haven't used the steam version of DeI ever since it started failing to launch, and redownloading itself dozens of times.

We don't have custom music for a lot of reasons, some KAM stated. Another reason is that right now its a preference and users can choose what they want to use for various factions, etc.

Many, many users still use Steam (which I hate ). Its unfortunate but there are limitations to both systems. TWC has less exposure to the player base but is way easier to manage and communicate. Steam is highly visible but is a nightmare to manage/communicate.

Tyso3 made a really nice music mod for Rome 2 that I've been playing with for a long time. I recommend it for anyone who wants to try something new and atmospheric with DeI (the epic pack, not the dynamic)!

Nice, thanks Ygraine! I knew Tyso3 made a music mod but I wasn't fond of the tracks I heard -- apparently I never scrolled down and saw that the more appealing epic version was a separate mod. Downloading that now...
