OVERCLOCK YOUR CPU. If and where possible, safely.

I only did this recently and the gameplay/ framerate was night and day.

I OC'd my cpu to 4.8ghz from 4.0 and seen no difference in fps. I'm not gpu bound either as it's being under utilized. Can't figure it out.

Go into the woods at midnight. It has to be a new moon.
Then you sacrifice a couple of virgins while chanting like a madman into the night.
Go home and play Rome at Extreme settings with 60 fps.

Seriously: If you have to ask how to overclock: DON'T DO IT. Even if it's very easy and safe today compared to 'old times', it still can ruin your hardware in an instance. If you are having a passion for PC, it's a serious hobby. But don't even bother to try just for one game.

Well the laptop is a couple of years old and becoming obsolete. So if it broke, it would just gimme an excuse to upgrade it.

    Loved Flashheart's comment.

@dahooscarl Laptops are not ideal for overclocking, as cooling is often a problem. Do the fans run a lot gaming even without overclocking?

Totes. I actually have an Opolar external exhaust on it just to keep the temp down. Before that I'd have to stop gaming after a couple hours cause the WASD keys would heat up.
