Marian reforms, available auxilia
Hi,
I've just hit Marian reforms, but in rome despite lvl auxilia barracks I barely have any units to recruit, is that a bug or intended behavior?

Check your cultural influence. If the province with the auxiliary barracks isn't majority Latin, youll only have access to local levies.

He should have auxiliaries even if its not majority culture. But, Marian auxiliaries are more about the provinces outside of the homeland. Most of the available ones will be out in the world. The idea is to build aux barracks in frontier provinces.

Re: Marian reforms, available auxilia
The only units available in italia for aux units would be basically emergency conscripted Italian troops. Hence the aux archers and aux spearmen. Otherwise all roman troops would naturally be fighting in the legions, now wouldn't they?

yeah, I was just surprised that all soccii were gone and only legions and wardogs are available. Given reforms haven't triggered by themselves I had doubts...

Yeah the soccii had been made full Romans by the time of the Marian reforms, and as such, they are no longer available as aux units.
