Default and your response would be?

On that eventful day of your death ~ you stood before God and he asks you ~ why should i let you into Heaven ~ what would your response be to God??

**this question is not meant to actually ask the question on God's part ~ it is more to get your response on "how does one get into heaven" - ie - some believe because they are good or do good works...just looking to see what ppl believe is the way to get to Heaven....and for those that don't believe in Heaven....i guess there is no reason to respond but it is open so respond if you wish

Had to add this 2nd paragraph because i believe most took this question as one that God will ask himself....i only meant to see or know what you thought was the way to get to Heaven!

God: "Why should I send you to Heaven?"

Me: "Because you shouldn't. Neither, however, should you be sending me to Hell. In fact you should not be standing judgement of me at all. You have had no effect on my life; you have shown no feelings toward me or even knowledge of my existence. I have taken the intellectual viewpoint that you do not exist based on the lack of... well, honestly, the lack of any demonstration, rational or empirical, that you do. I have therefore developed a moral code without reference to that which you propose (which I will come on to later) and possibly in partial breach of such a code. On the matter of that code, how could one fail to breach it given that various interpretations, counter-interpretations, counter-counter-interpretations, and so on; which are hypocritical, internally inconsistent, and totally illogical if not outright and downright insane. In fact that code attacks people on the basis of matters such as sexual preference, taste in food, and other trivialities. My own moral code is more logical and I have attempted to follow it as best I can, though obviously not perfectly; I have at least thought for myself, tried to rationalise it all, and not followed blindly something self-contradictory if one thinks about it. Thus I would say you are totally unfit to sit in judgement of me."

    Simple, no?

If he actually asks me "Give me a few reasons you should be in heaven" Then I will tell my virtues.

If he does not I will remain silent and await his judgement.

the question is more a thought question ~ to look into it ~ because when you die ~ it is not a matter of what you say to him because at that point it would be too late because your life on earth is what is speaking for you at that point not what you verbablize before God and to tell you the truth ~ When you stand before him ~ in his Almighty form ~ i truly don't think anyone ~ christian or not ~ will be able to simply stand there and talk to him like he is just another being person....i believe and truly believe when you are before him ~ you WILL be on your hands and knees before him .... like the old answer that you hear often....or atleast i have heard.....i am going to tell God off when i am in Heaven....i simply don't believe anyone is capable at that ~ you will be in AWE of his majesty ~ no matter what you say at this point.....remember all will bow when he returns..and yes again that means all of us...christian or not...pulling fingers away from keyboard now...if not will keep typing and typing and typing...and no one wants that lol - but as a Southern Baptist ... i do respect everyone's opinion and their believes.

I personally disagree strongly on that, I really do; authority can bow only those who have a mind to accept bowing to it, and I really cannot (as I said) accept the authority of God. I speak my mind...

and that is what makes us different ~ we all have different opinions ... hate to see a world of all of the same but atleast for me and the bible i read ~ it says "all men" will bow before the Lord...but i also understand not all believe or understand the bible so to each their own..just stating my opinion as well

sorry not sure how to post with multiple quotes...hey this is my only 11th post... but anyway ... the good news is we have all sinned and can be forgiven of all sin....just have to accept Jesus...no one is lost unless they choose to be lost from heaven by not believing in the Son.

and remember my belief is mine and yours is yours...not looking to say yours is wrong and mine is right .. just asked a question to see what ppl would say! oh ~ just realized this ~ i asked - God would ask why i should let you into heaven...not send you to heaven...by saying send - it is showing that God is not of heaven...but to "let into" heaven - it shows he is in heaven ..makes sense? i hope...just realized ppl were responding that way..to me that is a big difference in that 1 word.

Here is what I would say, if God exists and asks me this question when I die.

God: "Why should I let you into Heaven?"

Me: "That should be the least of your concerns; you should be concerned with why you must make that choice in the first place, not what I did or did not do... you've become so consumed by your own image that you believe you have the right to judge my actions, you have no right. What about your actions, should not you be judged for them, or is judgment beyond you. You must not have been judged, for you'd surely be in Hell if you had."

God wouldn't ask such a question in the first place. Why would it possibly interest God what YOU thought about the matter - he's the bossman, he makes the calls and pisses on your dog if he feels like it. You wouldn't get to make a contribution to decision-making.

ok by the looks of it ~ most of you can't understand what the question is asking....even to the Catholic further down...stating that the above quote was well said. Of course God is not going to stand there asking you why he should let you into Heaven for he already knows that answer - and lets see...if you are there before him...then it is too late to change sides by then...either your name is in the book of life or the book of judgement...and for those that say they will tell him off....i would love to be a fly on the wall...he is a picture of what i would see ... you are on your hands and knees shaking, begging, pouting - crying out over and over that you know him but he has never known you....that will be for those in the book of judges....those of you in the book of life ~ wait ~ oh yea ~ we don't have to stand before him on the day of judgement for we are already saved by his grace alone. sorry got off track.

To answer you first statement ~ why would God care about what you say...are you kidding??? I don't know where to start with that other then read the book of John in the bible. God is everything about relationship, one on one with the individiual - God wants a relationship with you...he is not a God that puts himself above us and doesn't want anything to do with us like populace...i think that was what that game was lol....anyway......God does not like religion in the way that it is full of regulations, rules and methods, and now we do this, then this and now this..wait and this goes here....not much personal relationship there ~ and yes i had been a Catholic for most of my life and me personnally got nothing out of it ~ except knowing when 45 minutes were up without looking at a watch...not downing the Catholic faith but since that is what have known for about 20 years..that is what i have only to relate to .. but much religion is that way...you loose focus on why you are there....to many it is about the good music, or the feel good feelings you get when you leave..but those can be good but the reason we go to church is to worship God only..not to make you feel good but to praise him....sorry got on my soapbox .......for those that i have lost with my ramblings...i will break the thread down..the question again is not truly why God would ask that...it is What you think gets you into heaven....answers that are ... because i am good won't get your there, i saved many ppl won't get you there, i go to church won't get your there, you say you are christian that won't get you there.....that last one is to say that you are christian by knowledge only.....see on that day there will be alot of Catholics, alot of Baptists, alot of (fill in your religion here or denomination) and of course not believers that say i know you and he in turn will say i never knew you and will be cast down.....sorry.....rambling now

But remember to be respectful ~ just because you may not believe someone else's beliefs and logic ~ you should still be respectful and know that my opinion is right o/j.
