The Siege of Carthage
Part 2:

Saba clawed himself out of the muddle of bodies, grunting and panting as he moved, his sword heavy with the blood of many Carthaginians that he had slain in battle. As he saw the conflict revealing itself, the plaza was fiercely fought for between them and the Carthaginians. A band of Sacred Band formed a shield wall against the Roman Traii. Everything went in slow motion, for Saba saw the houses burning in the distance, the civilians almost being dragged away for slaves, but many were defiant, fighting against the Romans within every sight. Some threw rocks and pebbles, while many fought back and kicked as many Romans as they could find.

Saba had been a young lad when the Romans had conquered his tribe's village in the Hispanic regions. Fire engulfed the city as smoke to the sky. The sun hardened, not willing to leave. A group of Sacred Band soldiers raised their shields high, their eyes stiff with resistance, as a fireball destroyed them, engulfing them as another fireball smashed into a building putting them into the ground. Saba almost felt as if the Gods had judged this day, had seen it incoming. For two months he had been against the Romans and he still hated them, but now even he too accepted it. But the Gods were not on the Roman's side that day, for many of their brethren were killed or destroyed.
But this would be the day he would gain glory. And centuries later his family would rise to become a powerful one. Although he didn't know it at that time. Saba heaved his shield as he saw the gateway being held by the Carthaginains. He needed to find Flabius now, for he could not finish the job without him. A Nubian, Wahestu arrived as he saluted smartly.
''Wahestu, what progress?''
''Optio, we've broken the last of the Carthaginians at the port,''
''And the men? Do we have enough?''
''We do,'' He nodded.
''Good,'' Saba said as he looked onto the regiment, tried and shattered as some of them collapsed. A Carthaginian archer raised his bow at the Roman legion and fired. Saba ducked the arrow and raised his javelin, firing as it missed the target. A rock smashed into the tower as his cries became engulfed. Flabius's legion now stood alert.

''Romans! Romans!'' He yelled.
''Roma will win, Roma will triumph, and Roma shall last for glory! Raze the city to the ground, and find Flabius! The Republic shall win this day and by the Gods, I will stay here till every single part of Carthage is burned to the ground! Now, to me men, to me!'' The men cheered, roared, and spurred on. Saba charged into a battalion of Carthaginian soliders, kicking one to the ground and beating another with his head. He raised his sword and began to slash at the Carthaginian's sheild. The Carthaginian fought back, hard and stubborn, and wouldn't give ground, and stabbed Saba's rib with his spear. Saba staggered back as he yelled curses in Iberian. The Carthaginian smiled in irony and attacked.
