On the subject. Why did the EB team decide to make forts cost zero? :hmmm:
(I do like how you made watch towers cost 2000. I usually mod my games to do the same as they would be very expensive to maintain. Too bad it can't be a constant cost like 250-500 every turn.)
the forts that the game represent are your basic temporary camp structure, rather than a full fledged, garrisoned fort; thus they cost nothing.

True. But they do put up defenses and dig trenches for them. Maybe there could be a movement penalty after building them? Troops are tired and worn out from digging all those trenches and putting up all those walls?

IIRC, actually the romans builded their castrums in one afternoon, and were good to go at the next morning...
But that`s an extreme example... not every faction had roman organization, off course...
Anyhow, considering that each turn lasts 3 months, I think it`s enough time to build a palisade and dig some ditches.![]()
