Icon5 Are you still playing SPQR?

I'm wondering how many people are still playing SPQR, now that M2TW is out. I decided to put M2TW away until a few patches come out.

If you never played SPQR, then DONT vote.

Yeah I still play SPQR, not as often as I'd like, but M2 doesn't consume my life... primarily because of the slow start and then you've got like 50 turns to conquer the world and Jerusalem... I'm extremely disappointed in M2 because of the time limit, a game like this should've gone straight through to the Napoleonic era... and surprisingly, I'm finding in custom battles that the AI is more suited to Napoleonic warfare than Medieval warfare.

But I still prefer SPQR, THE standard for my TW experiences.

And Medieval is really easy, even on VH/VH I've only fought 150 Battles grand total and have 25 turns left in the campaign.
I really liked Xena's solution to alot of problems.

Yeah, I realized that. As I said in my post I wondered how many people still played SPQR. The poll counts that.

no other game/mod can provide us with Roman epic battles like SPQR does... so yes!!! SPQR rules until it can be migrated to M2TW ;-)

Actually, my old rig fried trying to play M2TW... I haven't gotten around to reinstalling RTW or SPQR since I bought my new one.

Actually, I haven't been playing much of anything, but on occasion I have played M2TW without actually finishing a short campaign yet...

Gotta admit the M2TW eye candy is pretty nice.

SPQR Utterly humiliates the lack of creativity and gameplay in M2TW...

So yes I wasted 50 bucks on M2TW and im still playing SPQR

yeah i still play SPQR over M2TW...hell, i don't even play any other RTW mods anymore...EB, RTR, Terra Expugnandae, all pale in comparison to SPQR imo...weird thing is, though it seems a whole lot of people out there play SPQR, very few of them post in this forum...forums for other mods seem a lot more active than this one...maybe it's because this mod is pretty much complete so there's no bugs to report or changes to request

rep me if you like my posts, and it's highly likely you'll get some back

I just downloaded SPQR mod last week. Of course i'm playing it!

I've lost all interest in MIITW until mods come out.

I think that SPQR doesnt have the widespread popularity that RTR and EB have. When people start playing it, they usually get sucked in, but that is if they find it. When I started playing mods for RTW, I started naturally with RTR (the most advertised mod), then EB, and then after a long time started looking through the list of mods, until I found SPQR, and then got stuck on it and never played any other mods. Naturally I tried M2TW but came back to SPQR again.

SPQR is the most addictive mod for me. Currently, I am fighting (mostly defending against) gauls, germans, macedons, awaiting marian reforms (~12 turns). Maybe then I would be able to give up playing.

lol i'm currently campaigning against macedon and those guys are tough...most of their cities are huge cities (so lots of loot to be had) and they send stack after stack of royal pikemen and hoplite swordsmen all with 3 gold chevrons apiece...i'm taking land from them but it is a grinding campaign, and for the first time ever, i lost an entire legion (plus legionary eagle)...naturally, i went to the nearest city, fought an hour-long siege battle, and took my eagle back (and, of course, exterminated the population in an act of revenge )

Yea, me too. I've discovered SPQR just before I bought M2TW, so played just 3 turns of the campaign and some custom battles, then immidsaitely returned to truly pleasure of SPQR.
I'll try again M2 but only with interesting mods, but even then I wont leave SPQR......

The M2TW game IMO wont work too well with the roman era. The battles are utter buggy chaos and there is no way you can get epic organised legion battles in it.
