Possible Bug!!!!

During my Turk Campaign I sent a diplomat to the pope and managed to get an alliance and trade rights. Ten turns later a crusade was launched against one of my regions, Constantinople, by the English, French and Hungry. However I am still allied to the Papacy and still have trade rights!!! Its been 10 turns since and i'm still an ally to the pope.

Something not right about this??? :hmmm:

Well the papacy and you haven't engaged in any war so technically it's not a bug (nothing is coded wrong), it's just silly, and perplexing, and in my opinion an oversight.

No...and yes. The pope can be from every christian faction. So when the pope is english, the English can start the crusade by "using" the papal might.

The same goes with the turks/moors/egypt declaring a jihad for -say- Constantinople. You have a proposition for ceasefire while the jihad stack is near the to-be-sieged city. Nevertheless it's not a bug since the nation that sends a crusade/jihad army has not the option to cancel it

The Pope starts the crusade, but the Papacy doesn't go to war.

Can the Pope still call for a crusade if you have taken Rome?

Yes sir! Pope just can't die enough! You take rome and there he reappears (even if have killed the pope another popes takes over)
