I think the Asia and China can be merged together, if China alone the map is pretty small since the Spring-Autumn period there is little to no diplomacy towards the outside world. (and yes, the Warring States(Sengoku Jidai) are the japanese one, not the chinese)

The period of civil war in Japan is more commonly called the Sengoku Jidai, but not the Warring States period (even though that's what it means). The name Warring States Period is much more commonly applied to the pre-unification Chinese civil war than it is to the Sengoku period.

I added "Shogun 2 :Total War" to the poll. I bet on that one.

And yes, adding, at least, Korea, for it was realy invaded at that time, and well, add also China since they were the threat that stopped the invasion...
But then again, they'll find a way to include Scottland...
Spatio-temporally, and generally also, STW was by far the best. It all just fitted perfectly together, flowed awesomely. (That's why adding the mainland would be an error! More time and space and thus, dillution of harmony!)
And they then tryed, with some success, to aplly the formula to Europe as a whole and a time period of 400hundred years!
New AI, graphics, diplomacy wouldnt hurt, but I'd revert back to the boardgame map. Not spectacular but damn! Best campaign AI you want!

I'm pretty sure the OP meant The Warring States period in China, the one that forged the first real Empire of China. What the hell are you blabbinb on about Japan? The Japanese Warring States period came after the Chinese and is less well known as the Chinese Warring states period. Please know what you are replying too.Also, The Warring States period is not the same and spring and autumn. The Warring States were AFTER the Spring and Autumns period.

As for China being small, that is all up to CA. They could make it huge, including Mongols, Japanese, Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. Also, no diplomacy in Warring States? Again, get your facts straight, it was most crucial to good diplomatic relationships in that time, with eachother and with the barbarians.

Other.... WW2. the campaign map would still be the same and battles would be very interesting, but of course with fewer units and way more "special abilities" for different units, i really think WW2 total war would work.

I picked Medieval Asia, because although I would love to have the entire world (preferably in either Medieval or Roman times), I don't think that's a realistic choice.

Napoleonic. THe lordz have shown the potential of it. Now imagine CA making all the codes,engines for that. And then the Lordz could make a realism mod for it or a mod that improves it. THIS=heaven
EDIT: ALso Asia would be nice. 3 kingdoms but add Japan, Korea, etc. Sure it isn't the MOST realistic but gameplay better then history...mostly

I completely agree. The Lords have shown the potential of the Napoleonic era, and with the revamped engine of M2TW capable of gun fire.....yep, CA needs to go forward in time to the next era. Bring on Napoleon. Oh, and if they do that, then ship and fleet battles are an absolute must!

If its true that they will have 3D ship battle system. Then Napoleonic era probably will be there one. Since ship battles played a big role back then.

I know it seems like it is a little early but Rome would be fun another time around. Look at all the Roman or Greek period mods out for that game, clearly there is some interest there.

i think europe provides the best theatre for a TW game (despite a game including the whole world) so i would be really interested in a napoleonic era game, a world war 1 scenario or maybe the timeperiod from the rise of napoleon to the fall of the german kaiser (which will include both scenarios i've mentioned before).

I'd go for either a RTW2 or an ancient greece one. Total war means fighting hand to hand in my mind. Guns would take that away almost completely. A whole world total war seems a little unrealistic to pull off and a WW1 or 2 would really break from what has been a Total War tradition.
