A few questions after starting DeI for 50 turns
Hi I have just started DeI last weekend and I really appreciate the work you have done. I was a die-hard fan of Europa Barbarorum years ago, so I like all your efforts making the game more historical and realistic
.
I read everything in the DeI manual, especially the supply system. I also watched the battle preview in Youtube. However, there are still a few issues that I need your help.
1. The regional supply in supply system. I started a VH/N Bactria campaign, and I also started a Rome campaign to test the problem. It appears that every time I load a saved game for either Bactria or Rome, my regional supply for all owned province goes back to 180 no matter what they are when I save the game (like 200+). I do not think it is designed that way since it would make regional supply less important, so I am not sure whether it is a bug, and I want to know if there is any way to fix it.
I have also posted the question in the sticky thread.
FYI, my Rome 2 is a clean steam version, with everything except CiG, HatG and Sparta campaign. I have double checked that only the 6 patches of DeI are selected in the mod manager.
2. Strategic depots. In the manual it says trade ports could also be used as strategic depots, does it mean lv 3 and 4 trade ports only, because I have built a lv 2 trade port but it does not provide a supply line for my army in the neighboring region.
3. My Bactria can always trade with Taksashila and make some money though I did not sign a trade agreement with them. At war they still trade. If I sign a trade agreement, there would be 2 Taksashilas appearing in my trade table. Again, I am also not sure if it is designed that way.
These are my questions so far. Again thank you so much for the help
.

2. I think only trade ports in major cities count as strategic depots.
3. That sounds like a bug. Very strange.
Are you using any submods?

Thank you for your reply!
3. No, I do not have any submods. You can actually start a Bactria campaign and see if it is the same. I restart a new one and I still trade with Taksashila without a trade agreement.
Do you have any clue for the first question?

Don't have a clue about no 1... but 4:
Either technological advance for enemy or maybe different city, with port this time maybe?
and 3: maybe left-over files of other mods in data folder? Those can cause serious issues too, despite not being activated in mod manager!

Re: A few questions after starting DeI for 50 turns
The trade thing came from our attempts to alter the starting diplomacy between the factions. I will be redoing the startpos for 1.2 so this will be fixed, but for now its probably going to stay that way.

Thanks for the reply!
The trade problem does not have any serious impact on the gameplay so no big deal actually. In fact my major concern is still the first one I mentioned, the regional supply after loading a game. Again I'm still not sure whether it is my own problem or it is actually like that.

I just ran that test and it seems I have the same issue with supplies. I will report it to Litharion.

Thank you so much.
Again I really appreciate your response and I am glad that my feedback could help. I am now really enjoying my campaign, it would just make things better if you noticed this supply issue.
