Eh, I've just finished reading "The Fall of Reach" and started reading "The Flood".

Also, Halo Wars will be set up to the Fall of Reach, "Halo" itself was set after Reach fell to the Covenant and the Pillar of Autumn encountered Halo.

Game engine, physics engine, amount processor and RAM of the average and top performance home computers, etc. Oblivion, for instance, is very "heavy" and still lightyears away from some CG we can see in movies so the main hindrance to having CG-like games is mainly the available average hardware.

It it were Halo 4, it wouldn't be the Fall of Reach. A sequel comes after, not before. Besides, they said Halo III is going to be the end of this particular story arc. Though, Peter Jackson is working on a "New Halo Project" while the movie is in development hell.

Well, imagine that a game was released that required a massive amount of RAM, a top notch FX-team quality processor and video card... imagine how much it would cost us to buy that sort of rig...
I prefer a game with less eyecandy but with more content, eyecandy does not equal "good", many games look great but are pieces of crap. This doesn't mean a good game has to have bad graphics just that it's easier to come up with better graphics then better gameplay.

I sure would love to play such games, that doesn't mean my computer and that of the average player could run it; as it is games are constantly pushing the graphic boundaries and the need to upgrade videocards and RAM has been increasing exponentially.
Also, those images are still renders, full animated 3d renders are... well, much much harder to process and require a faster CPU.
