    Default Great idea... i think

Ok hear me out on this: have random cities in the north raided by Dragons. It could work just like an Earthquake or flooding. The affected city would smoke like its population had been exterminated on the map. You could also work in messages like "Let the people of the realm rejoice for a winged drake has been slain by hunters from Dale/the Iron Hills!" every now and then. This would only really work for the full mod but its something to think about.

It's nice as an event - but would have to refer to ME:TW or LOTR:TW as I'm very much afraid there are no dragons in the Fourth Age.

Cold drakes not around?, i know the flying type were gone, but JRRT never says the cold drakes were no more.

For instance many online acounts say they were still around, besides i like the idea!.

I agree, Dragons were not wiped out with Smaug, rather he was the last of the great winged dragons, the kind that have no equal. The kind of dragons that lived into the Fourth Age would be smaller and really only capable of raids

But, to my knowledge, apart from small birds moving in the background to warn you of enemies in nearby woods, the RTW engine doesn't support fliers.
That's just my basic (and rather shaky) understanding of the mechanics, but it seems a rather compelling reason :p

This wouldnt be on the battlefield, you could never engage a Drake with an army. It would be an event which could be scripted into the campaign much like a flood or earthquake.

yes but that would still be a goodthing, an atmosphere improvement to the mod.

oooo i like that idea, since my idea in the other thread wouldnt work, this seems good. be cool also if make in certain areas ( like mountains) you have a higher chance of running into these messages. like smaller armies being ambushed and destroyed by orc raiders, or trolls or something. of course people dont like losing soldiers, but it would be kind of like how dangerous it was for the fellowship to go through mines.

oya another comment if u ppl intend of adding orks which i saw in coding for ci, they dont really have barracks they spawn from some sort of pit so u should recruit them from a barracks that when u build it it has the image for cesspit and call it "ork muster pit" just a suggestion

Don't worry, we've thought about that long ago.

The reason the Orks (and Elves, Dwarves etc) are in the EDU is that it's supposed to be compatible with the "full" build, makes less work for Palantir.

i've got a little suggestion, which i'd like to post here, if no one does mind...

i've had a look at EB (very good mod btw) and i noticed that they had added on the campaign map region-specific items, like vineyards, farms, copper, iron and gold mines, marble quarries and so on. my suggestion would be to implement such specific items on the campaign-map of this mod, like barrows, tobacco farms, quarries etc.

i've never seen a more living campaign map than the one in EB...
