How do I record my samples?

Well, first you need a mic and a recorder. Use the Windows recorder if you want, or any available on internet. Record in mono, RTW can't use stereo sounds. Then, leave at least a 2 second space before and after the samples, so that I can edit out any noise. If you want, you can put a sock on the mic (but bevare of the smell, it is good to have a clean ) to avoid some noises. Or then just don't point the mic at your mouth, have the mic beside your mouth. And don't for Eä's sake Breathe in the mic!

    Just quickly -
    1) Can I use Audacity?
    2) What accent do you want? Similar to Bernard Hill in the films? I can do various British Isles voices...

    1) Yes, any recording program is OK, as far as the voiceover sounds good/can be edited

    2) Well, the Rohirrim resemble Scandinavians, but English would be OK too

What should the Dunlendings sound like? Germanic? Stereotypical Barbarian Raspy Voice (tm)?

Yes, although you can add your own flavour to it

Yes, we are looking all the time, currently more than at other times

There's a list of some lines you may want to test out in the first post.

Oh and what kinda voice do you have? You're scandinavian right? Then you should try Rohan!

    Every of those

It doesn't really matter what format, as long as it's mono and wav. But of course it has to sound good

And record any of those, but the Rohan-list is the full unit roster so you're gonna have to record all of those anyway

would love to pitch in(the current voiceacting is a little sad) but my mic is from like the early 1990's and i dont know how to use it. if you need, i can do good eastern accents, good russian accents, and i will help if someone will offer to teach me to use a mic!!! lol and for voices i think you need more diversity. one person voicing a whole unit list is a little dull.....

We aware of the less-than-satisfactory quality of some of the voice acting but we can only use what has been submitted (including that by those who thought they could do better but in the end either submitted nothing substantial or found out just how hard it was and had their work rejected).

But we are always willing to listen to samples.

Are you looking for people with lighter voices? I can 'put on' a heavy warrior type voice, but it wouldn't be as convincing.

    Send a sample.

I cannot say what you should do and not, since I do not know what you sound like. Do some test for yourself and listen to them a couple of times, I think you'll be able to judge it for yourself.

Still needing Rohirrim or Dunlending voices? I don't have any equipment at home but a m8 has and I might just as well give it a shot.

heres an idea, i thought that you could take 'riders of the mark' and 'riders of rohan' off the movie, its professional, and sounds pretty impressive too
Bad luck Jerry, third time lucky, eh?
