Default Crop Rotation & +: bad idea?

I've heard that building anything more than communal farming will only increase squalor and outbreaks of the plague. Since you can only make so many medical buildings, do cities in MTW2 eventually become squalor-infested pig holes that need to be abandoned to rebels and then retaken+SLAUGHTERED like every city in RTW? (LOL.)

Squalor has a max value in M2TW, I think it's like 16 or 20%. Even as populations grow into the hundred thousands it doesn't go above that.

Yep. It's not as bad as Rome in that respect. You can build away happily. Only thing is: do build the walls as soon as you can in each size level (reduce squalor), followed by the administration building. That, plus keeping one or two spies inside (to help deal with enemy unrest-causing spies infiltrating your settlements) will help a lot in keeping your cities happy. Oh, and deal with heretics as soon as you can. Even heresy of 5-10% can cause religious riots sometimes.

Ok thanks a lot. I was already doing the spies thing

Does a Rebel army in your region increase Unrest or Squalor? I get tired of slaughtering rebel armies, sometimes I just leave them alone.
