    Default Oldest Faction Leader

not just in this total war but any. i cheat a bit every time i get a message that my faction leader has died. i load up the last turn and hope i get lucky the next. changing the movement of your units in the previous turn seems to help. in rome total realism my faction leader became so old that his age reset to zero. his portrait changed and everything. was that a bug or just the product of dedicated cheating?

    Good one.
Maybe I will use that to keep my King alive for a bit longer as I need him for my sacking of Italy(he got full command + full dread)
Oldest...had a faction leader RTW who ended as being around the 100 years old...but it is probably a bug similar to the merchant bug(which can be "fixed" by changing capital and changing it back to the old one)

The most i have got that i can remember was in MTW 1. My byzantine faction leader was almost a hundred years old. 98 if i remember correctly.

And yes lol, you are one dedicated cheater.

    Nothing beats reality :

Pages! Harness my steed from Murcia; and thou, give me my mailcot and my good Toledan steelblade. Sirs, knights, today ninety-five years have passed since my christening, eighty since I first bore arms, seventy since I was knighted, and I want to celebrate such a day by making a raid across the border of the Moors.

My oldest so far has only made it to like 65... maybe I've had an older one in M2TW, but I can't recall.

In M2TW a young 16 year old could survive from the early Feudal ages to the Renessaince, I have seen a faction leader reach over 100 in RTW, but havent played more than 50 turns in a M2TW campaign.

Never had one over 62 years old. I think that's stupid, too, frankly. CA should add some variations to the death ages of characters. Unless killed by unnatural causes, my generals ALWAYS die between age 60 and 61.

I know the average age of death was low back then, but it doesn't mean literally everyone died at that age. Especially royalty, who undoubtedly had better access to doctors and other life-extending benefits.

The nobility were the only ones making it to their 60's and above. Still, I'd like to see the odd octogenarian or young-dying sickly youth.

They usually seem to die around 58-63 in my experience, which is probably right for the time.

This guy's going to die soon, the conquerer of the whole of England and most of the America's (so far).

The funny part is, no matter how awesome that general is he could easily be killed by an Inquisitor.

    Sigh, come oooon patch!

Have CA mentioned fixing Inquisitors in the patch?

My generals NEVER live past 60-63. Except on one occasion where a general lived to an amazing total of 64.

Does everyone have problems with Inquisitors? I played as england for about 100 turns, and I was the popes worst enemy he called a crusade on me. There were always Inquisitors floating around my territories but I never lost a single character to them.

I had my starting Dacian faction leader in R:TW live to about 85...a whole 20 years past what I expected.

Certainly threw me for a loop

I had a big drought with generals. My generals weren't getting any marriage proposals and they were all getting old with no generation below them.

Then I got a new adoption possiblity. A 67 year old man! I had no choice but to accept. He lasted 2 years before he croaked.

Oh hahahaha, sorry man for laughing at your misfortune but that is just too hilarious. A royal family of old farts and then a messenger shows up: "Sire, this young bright man will make a worthy addition to our noble family and is fit for breeding. He can serve your noble family for countless years to come. He is only 67 years old."

This is a nice post by the way. I have the impression that generals live much shorter lives in M2TW than they did in RTW. Back then my generals usually died around 77-84. Now they die on the early + side of 60. I know that can't be historically correct. That humans lived longer around 0 BC than they did in medieval times. Expected life time has gone forward, not backwards. Only reason must be that the Creative Assembly weren't being historically correct when they made it so generals in RTW had so long lives.

Maybe they just swing the other way.

I once had 93 year old general in RTW from start of the game, took all the Gaul with him and when he did Gauls took most of the settlements back. Ironic isn't it
