Default Civil war and difficulty question

    Hi guys!

As this is my first post on this forum, I would like to thank you for you work with DeI. It is incredible what you've done! You guys are the best!

    So about my question.

What will happen when I destroy Senate Loyalist and choose Empire? Will I still have to worry about my popularity in Senate?

And second one, can I choose Hard difficulty for battles or will it break balance?

Thanks for the answer and thank you for your hard work!

Yes, you can have a second civil war, so you have to keep your political power in check.

And yeah, hard difficulty will break battle balance, but you can always try it if you think battles are too easy.

I cant get a civil war started. My imperium is the second highest, but i cant get my party powerful enough to start the civil war risk going.

I beat the Rome campaign and no civil war. My family never even rose above 35% in the Senate. Just start adopting guys from other families when they're young, and load them down with traits and ancillaries that boost gravitas. Keep doing this and maybe assassinate some rival family members.

I believe civil war chances tied to inperium(on top of control?)
From PFM,there's medium chance of civil war eruption(3% at medium) at second highest inperium.
So I think it depends on how many turns you spent in those state.

That is,unless someone could show that imperium lv has no bearing on civil war occurrence.

Civil war chances are determined by imperium and your family's political influence. The higher both of those are, the higher your chance of civil war is.

Im trying to get a civil war going in my Roman Campaign now. I'm at max Imperium and have 30% influence in the senate. I don't want to take anymore regions because im going for traditional borders of the Roman Empire. Its pretty hard to to get there, I have one guy in the senate at 1700 gravitas but im only getting 1 or 2 influence a turn!. Its taking a very long time to try and get to the civil war stage, especially with no enemies to fight.

Yep, it's very difficult to change your influence in the late game. The change per turn doesn't care about total gravitas, but how much gravitas you gain per turn. I think... (I'm not sure on this, there was a post a long time ago that explained it better) that as the campaign goes on, you need more and more gravitas per turn to change influence. Could be I've got this wrong, but I know it's harder to change later on. Basically, the way it works, you'll either have no civil war, or frequent ones, and it mostly depends on your early game politics. Yes, we will try to change this in DeI for a future update, but some aspects of the system can't be easily changed.

Power vacuums are created when your most powerful generals die creating fertile chances for a civil war.

If you are indeed recreating the roman empire with its borders and are not at war then I suggest you start setting yourself in a defensive war with a limited number of armies. That is the true challenge. Illyria/ eastern borders/germania/ scotland all those borders where hotspots for flash invasions so go ahead and go at war. That should keep your generals plenty occupied.
