ongoing med2 install issue

hi. before i get jumped on i've read the other posts but i think my situation is rather different so bear with me.
after reinstalling med2 gold i get sound and no picture. pc wont bring up taskmaster so ive to reboot every time.
apparently theres a windows security update which stops old games working but im not sure ive this installed
ive turned on safedisk in the reg already after reading about this
med1 and rome1 gold both installed wthout ant problems as did a few other pre 2010 games this seems to be an issue with this game only
ticked dpi settings and using nvidea graphics card
any ideas or simply move on to greater things?

It could be the secdrv.sys issue -easiest way is to convert to Steam.

Another thing you could try is updating your graphics drivers, if you haven't already.
