A few days later, Ferram Barroso left Granada with his army, his destination was Toledo, the heart of the enemy.
During their march, Admiral Manoel attacked the Spanish Fleet near the straits of Gibraltar, the battle sealed the fate of the enemy fleet, as 4 of their ships sunk, without any losses to the Portuguese.

The Portuguese plans were delayed, both cities should be conquered on, not anytime sooner or later, 1113. Prince Afonso couldn't know that Ferram was delayed, and then, he decided to assault the city.

the Portuguese Cavalry gets ready for the battle.
The plans of Prince Afonso were clear: the Infantry would storm the gate, that should be opened by our spy, then our cavalry would provide the shock force to push the enemies towards the city center. And then crush them all together. A bold and dangerous plan, but a plan that should work.

the Portuguese forms up, ready to charge through the city gates.

the Spaniards rush to meet their doom.
The clash of the infantry at the narrow León streets was a bloody one, as the spaniards met the hardened Almughavars on battle, they soon started to feel the effects of their lack of training. the Battle of Toledo - January, 1114
General Barroso decided to camp his army on a small hill near Toledo, the castle was well guarded and he was waiting for reinforcements from Pamplona. But the Spanish didn't wanted him to wait, as they rushed to meet him at the field.
When the portuguese scouts saw the enemy, Barroso had the time to bring a bold plan into action, his army would stand on a small forest, on the path of the Spanish army. He prepared his ambush with caution, he would use his fast Jinetes as a mobile skirmish force, to ensure that the Spanish would walk into his trap.

Ferram, really deserved his position as a General of the Portuguese Army.
And so the Spanish war ends. The Spanish is broken, their armies were scattered, and all is left is his king that now is sitting alone at his throne in Toledo. Ferram arrived with his army, but the Spanish lost their will to fight. And thus, Count Vasco of Toledo, one of King Afonso of Spain most trusted knight, chose to bow his head to the Portuguese General, and to kiss his sword. The Spanish King left Toledo to live on a monastery on Zaragoza. His kingdom was destroyed, his son killed and his house taken.
It was a bold move by King Henrique, he could destroy the entire Spanisha army on two single battles. First, he took Leon from the Spanish Prince, then General Barroso destroyed the Royal Army on a ambush near Toledo. And thus, Iberia is pacified. Zaragoza & Valencia fell to Portuguese hands soon enough, when they saw the size of the Portuguese army, they decided to kiss the sword of Prince Afonso, and sworn vassalage to Portugal.
Iberia is now Portugal.
