U have to make a granada ship(w/e it's called); u can get it by playing the Spanish.
Every faction gets the ship capable of sailing to America. All it requires is a certain turn to come around. The campaign desc_events.txt file says that The World is Round event which initiates the ability to build those ships and sail to America occurs, after the Black Deaths and Timurid Invasion, around turn 320.
117 is very early in the game, the Mongols shouldn't have even invaded yet by that time (though they will be coming soon), nor should you have discovered Gunpowder yet.
Yes, in my game as England, around turn 120, the Mongols invaded at least 40 turns ago and have settled down since - thankfully as a Western faction I have'nt seen them other than my spy in Jerusalem. I also got Gunpowder many turns ago, probably around 80. I now have Arquebusiers and Culverins. I'm still waiting on America.
How can I recruit Arquebusiers? Which buildings do I have to bulid? Cannot find any buildings in the rooster that are able of building them...
Roosters can build guns???
Seriously though I think the building browser updates after the discovery of gunpowder.
Hmm, the date in the desc_event.txt file must be years from start rather than turns then. That means that at the default 2 years per turn you get Mongols around turn 72 and Gunpowder around turn 80. The Black Death should sweep through Europe around turn 133, and America is discovered around turn 164.
Oh yeah, and I'm playing at two turns a year (0.5 rate) like RTW, which means I'll get America around turn 650 or so.

You can only build Arquebusiers in cities in the highest city-barracks level
@Legion12
The man is playing with 1year/turn, not 2/turn, which is the default.
