    Default The music

Just wanted to know everyone's thoughts on the music thus far.

I think its the best score for a TW game yet. I've played three different factions so far (Moors, Venice and England) and each has had a different campaign theme, and each is fantastic. The heavy drums in battles are great too.

Maybe a little more variety in the battle themes is needed, but seems to be quality over quantity

Yes, the music is quite awesome, i only wish there was more, it eventually gets repetitive once you've been playing the same faction against the same enemy for quite awhile...

My favorite has got to be the spanish style one with the clapping.

It's too Hollywood. It should have been more period and regionally authentic, like STW was...STW had by far the best music.

But mods will soon appear to solve this.

It's funny how most of the guys here demand the utmost fastidiousness when it comes to heraldry, armour and weapons, and they despise Hollywood BS, but when it comes to music they're more than pleased to have some Hollywood style theme that's a bad copy of late 19th Cent Romantic works like Rossini...Totally jarring anachronisms...

The music is good, but doesn't nearly grab my attention as much as RTW's score. I found RTWs score to be memorable and i often hummed to it =] With MTWs score though that is not the case. Not exactly sure why.

I thought the RTW music and with the addition of the cc-Lite-Music music to be the best I've ever heard in any game! I consider the MTWII music as fair; to bad they didn't use some of the music from the medieval period movie classic "Ivanhoe." Incidentally. that movie and the movie soundtrack are available on DVD and CD respectively.

Ack, RTW's music is the only score that i really disliked. I nearly went estatic when I got the RTR music.

And i understand Cadmiums point, but the music is supposed to reel you in and make it look just like... a movie. It's not supposed to be copying. Van Dyck uses instruments of today and mixes them with different styles to make a, not really authentic, but emotional feeling.

Look I like the guy, I mean, he did the music for STW. But you have to realize that Medieval and early Renaissance music and real Arabic music will reel you in much better than Hollywood music which frankly, may be easy to listen too for western raised people but that is the problem. It's music you can be complaisent about, it's music you don't even have to listen to.

There's medieval music that will blow your socks off...It's not all Gregorian Chants you know...

He only did the score for Mongol Invasion I believe. Shogun was done by someone else.

And what's wrong with Gregorian chanting? At least they didn't try....I dunno... Gregorian rapping. (yo yo yo...dominus in da houuuuse! -_-)

Yes, uit's missing theonly songs I liked.

I turned off the M2TW music after 1 day... I wish I could keep the title music on but that is it- it hollywoods me out too much. ick.

I liked RTW's better- that music lasted... oh about 2 weeks before I turned it off.

The music is awesome. In particular the best music is the spanish-italian one.
