Problems with the Logs Folder

Okay, everytime I boot up Vanilla M2TW it deletes all the contents of the 'log' folder I just set up... can someone who had this problem, and solved it help?

The logs folder is automatically generated. You do not need to create it yourself.

If it does not appear the first time you load a game, close that game and load it again. It should create the folder with the log in it.

Okay, so, it created the logs folder, but the folder itself is empty.
EDIT:
This is what I have written in the "medieval2.preference" file

[log]
to = logs/M2TW.system.log
level = * error

And as soon as I boot up the vanilla game, any of the four Kingdoms expansions, the logs folder empties everything within. Did I do something wrong?

Does this happen every time?

For example, you might run the game once and it not generate a log/delete the folder. Run that same game again and usually it will generate the folder and log the second time.

For some reason, it has been saving my log to the main folder, not in the logs folder....

That is odd. I have no idea why it would do that. The path you posted above is correct.

1. the log will always be deleted at game start - if it is in a separate folder then the folder goes, too.
2. it does happen that a log does not get generated, there won't be a folder then either.
