Could youi ever start a campaign on this computer?
Could youi ever start a campaign on this computer?
yeah It worked perfectly until I messed around a bit. Now I can't even see the screen.
I'd say you need a clean reinstall of the game. If it still does it, the problem is elsewhere.
How do you do a clean reinstall? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game like 3 times. The problem never got resolved
Steam or dvd or other download?
XP,Vista or Win7?
uninstall the game starting with the Kingdoms campaigns. Any other order messes it up.
Delete both Medieval2 folders, Program files (x860 and users\username\appdata\roaming\you're on your own.
Run a registry cleaner like Eusing Free Registry Cleaner. The uninstaller does not remove them.
Restart your computer.
Install the game in C:\Games with the UAC disabled. The game hate the UAC and the games folder will get you out of the virtual store garbage.
Thanks for the help. Gigantus helped me solve the issue through the Virtual store thing. It's similar to what you just said![]()
There is a cfg switch called"

nice
Where I believe that the value for nice can = 0-6. I believe this to be so since in the kingdoms.exe there is a nice value of 0-6 for the cinematic editor. I have no idea what it does, or what each level does, or if the values for the attribute are the same or if it is 0 or 1. Does anyone know or what its function is?

Any way to set it up so 'Use Passwords' in Hotseat is disabled by default?
Thanks. Does 'campaign_map_speed_up' make it so you don't have to press space to speed it up? Currently I have scripts that do it for me, would be nice to find a better way though.
Also, any way to have the menu default to very hard? And have no battle time limit enabled by default? I tried no_campaign_battle_time_limit and no_battle_time_limit, it didn't work for me.
Fast strat movements by default:
[game]
campaign_map_speed_up = 1
No battle time limit:
[game]
no_campaign_battle_time_limit = 1
While you can test in the script for the battle and campaign difficulty level there is no way to preset it either in the CFG file or the script that I know of. It does however have to be set somewhere as once chosen the level remains the same for the next game.
Muy Apreciado!
Hi,
How do I change the resolution under steam installation? There is no medieval2.preference.cfg file. Not even any *.cfg files.
The reason I'm asking is that I couldn't get the game working under various configurations. I'm trying to run the game under Playonlinux (wine versions 1.8 to 2.3) but what I see is only some color changes in the screen with music. I'm able to click things but can't see anything than colors... I think being able to change the resolution to my laptops native resolution could help...
The laptops I tried to run have following specs: ubuntu14 + i5 Cpu + HD4000 graphics, other one: ubuntu16 + some pentium dual core Cpu + gma graphics. The linux version shows only splash screen.
The last thing I'm going to try is install windows under VM
Did anyone know how to unlock factions in Kingdoms ? I have a Steam version and it didn't come with Kingdoms.preference.cfg ?
Install and play my Bare Geomod and that problem is solved. It requires modding the descr_strat file otherwise plus modifying the CFG file.
