Hello, I have spent about 4 hours attempting to fix / find a solution to this issue, but no luck yet. I will try to explain my issue simply and clearly:
I am running windows 10, have a fresh install of Medival 2 w/ Kingdoms and SS 6.3, 6.4 on STEAM. I added 6.3/4 using the "rename 6.3 to Americas campaign" trick, and it works. I can load SS, adjust the options, play quick battles, custom battles (even castle sieges), and historic battles. I can also start a new campaign, and play field battles, all with no issue. I can end turns, move around, and engage in diplomacy. I can do this with any faction.
However, the problem happens when I attempt to assault a castle/fort/city/town whatever. My army enters the assult stance. I build siege equipment. If I click "auto resolve" everything works just fine. When I click "assault" so I can play the battle, the screen zooms in, then switches to the loading screen, like normal. When the loading bar reaches 1/3 to 1/2 loaded, I experience the crash.
"An unspecified error occurred, and will now close." It blacks out, minimizes, and I have to usually use the control panel to close Medival 2 entirely.
I have tried the v.1.27 bugfix, which I believe loaded successfully because it displays its name when loading Stainless Steel v6.4 (the white Templar dude about to slay--page)
The specific-ness of this issue has me downright trumped. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, and if you need anymore information, please tell me how to get it (remember, steam version windows 10) and I will gladly provide. From what I have read there are a few other people who have had this or a similar issue, but I haven't found a working solution yet. Thanks!![]()
