Recommended Difficulty?

Currently playing as Rome on hard campaign, normal battle difficulty. From what I read that's what was suggested. Is this so? I've been steamrolling all through Illyria, Spain, and Sicily so far and just hit the Marian reforms.

Playing anything as Rome is a snooze fest. So VH/H or VH/N to start, I advise taking the hardcore mod for a spin if u play Rome.

Rome is the easiest faction for a few reasons. The smaller faction starts are harder, but as Kshar says you may want a higher difficulty or to try the hardcore submod.

We may look at making Rome's start a bit more difficult in 1.2.

As a beginner i would start Normal campaign , normal battle
As a experienced player i would go hard campaign , hard battle (or as a little minor faction with one settlement - normal Battle)
As a pro gamer i would pick very hard campaign , very hard battle

Also, as a pro gamer I would suggest hardcore mod, even on normal/normal is very challenging. You will have trouble as Rome with this submod I can assure you.
